Need for Speed Xbox360 - Choppy Framerates

I got to test out a final version of Need for Speed 360 at a kiosk at EB.

CHOPPY framerate. The frame rate is usally about 30 fps tops, but drops when things get hectic, you spin out, or take a turn too sharp (which makes your car become sideways showing more polys). Nowhere near 60 fps.

When these things happen, the game chugs down to about 15-20 fps for a second or two.

Throughout the whole game, normal driving has little stutters here and there.

Defiitely not as smooth at GT3, GT4 on PS2 or any of the PGR games.

For any of you racing fans, wait and test/rent out PGR3 first.

IGN says there is a problem with objects loading into the screen too.

There was one noticeable technical gaff in the retail build: while the framerate seemed steady, objects were loading into the screen in a jumpy, unsteady manner. Trees, buildings, bridges, whatever comes toward the screen as you zoom into the foreground, these objects appear on screen with odd hitches and micro-pauses. These errors don't affect the gameplay, but they're noticeable and distracting and they do alter your sense of immersion.

Truly disappointing to another level. I'm definitely going to wait for their "next" installment. Hopefully it's something worth a pick up. Definitely leaving this one for the dogs. Maybe a rent once or twice, but definitely not a buy.

Does this choppy framerate issue only apply to the 360 version?

I am debating buying a console (PS2 or Xbox) for the new NFS (love the series, best ever IMO), and am curious if this framerate issue is present across all consoles, or only present in the 360 version?
