    How To Start Car Modding

I know that it's a big culture but for some reason I don't know where to start. I'm real curious to get my car fixed up and running better so it could run smoother through my hardwork. I went looking for a few books so I could see where to start and make that timeline so I could get started. I just don't know what book is more appropriate. I'm a fairly decent type of kat when it comes to fixing things. I'm learning more and more about my car. My car isn't mad old but it's been around for a while. It's a Mitsubishi Galant 1991. I'm really looking for the most sensible book to help me out. If anyone has anything thatI could use whether a site, book, phone number, or anything useful like that, drop it for me or send me a pm please. I'd really appreciate it on the real. Thanks.

You're on the right track by asking in forums. If you want to start modding you want to find a forum that highlights your vehicle. For me it's bimmerforums.com and some others.

For you, you might want to start here:

    http://www.mitsubishiforum.com/
The largest 1991-1992 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 community and tech resource on the web.

Remember that you will need lots of racing stickers and the more spoilers you have, the better control you will be able to maintain while cornering at high speeds.

And unless you think sounding like a lawnmower is out of style, I definitely recommend a large fart pipe.

I don't really see the sense it modding a 15 year old car. Why don't you save that money for a better car in the future.

As far as there being books for modding.... I've never seen any. Modding is personal taste so you just have to search car forums and see what you like and if its in your budget.

I see sense in modding his car. Just because it's 15 years old does not mean anything. Would you rather 'mod' a brand new car? Judging from the context of his post he just wants to make his car run "better". Nothing wrong with that. He can put better than oem parts on his car which will keep it running therefore saving money on having to purchase one new. I don't see any indication that he wants to slap a fart pipe on there and a bunch of AEM stickers.

Shoot just by putting in new brake lines, brake rotors and pads, and new suspension would transform his car alone!

I have the fat pipe on there already but I want to redo it later on. It was done correct but it wasn't upkept like I want it and now it looks a little rough around the edges. Got that done about 3 years ago. I do want to start putting some parts in there to get it running smoother. I definitely am saving up for the suspension cause that sucker is SHOT!! I really appreciate it though on the real. Also, I like the setup of the car. I'm really feeling this car cause it was the first car I've driven. It has potential to be what I want it to be on the real. I'm so appreciative of the input.

The first thing I always tell people when they ask me about modding is lighting. Lighting improves your car is so many ways, looks and safety. I'm not talking about those blue bulbs or HID kits that blind people but a retro. Which consists of putting projectors in your car. Once you go HID you don't go back. If you do a lot of night driving this might be something to look at.

Nothing related to the topic, sorry....but it has to do with your signature. I thought I would revise it making fun of the developers before PS2 released, that we would get quality Toy Story graphics.
