    I've been playing both games.

After about 4hrs of Project Gotham 3, I'm 40% through the career mode.

After 5hrs of NFS I'm a whole 8% through the story mode.

NFS has the longer story/career mode. It also is EXTREMELY fast.
IF you don't care about the game being arcade you'll have a ton of fun with NFS. Now if you want more of the hybrid car driving game, then get PGR3.

I like all styles of racing (my fav racer is Pro Race Driver 2), but I'm really really happy with NFS.

I am very happy with NFS offline, online its bland, but the career mode is where it really shines.

NFS seemed a bit too shallow to me. Sure it has a longer career mode, but its pretty bland. PGR has two seperate career modes (online and offline) which extend the life, (although you only car about single player) and it has real-life tracks. If you dont mind the crazy physics engine in the NFS games I can see how people enjoy it, but I would be hard pressed to recommend it over PGR. Even for only the single player career.

          It's all preference.

I think the story mode for Most Wanted is fairly decent. I'm not saying it's the greatest story ever told, but it's interesting. Plus it's nice having a single player racing game that's long and not 8hrs of offline for the rest to be spent online like PGR3 is. I wish PGR had a much longer offline career.

I still perfer the crazy speed and longer single player mode of NFS. Now if PGR had an equal length career mode, that'd be a different story.

As a note. Outpost.com (aka Fry's Electronics) has Most Wanted 360 for 46.99 this week. As well as Madden 360 for 46.99.

You can blow through the single player in PGR getting silvers maybe, but its gonna be real hard to get platinums and get through the game that fast.

Like you said, its preference, but I just dont like going 200mph, turning a corner and slamming into the back of a semi-truck. The truck honks his horn at you and you just continue driving like it never happened. Sometimes slamming into traffic doesnt even bring you to a complete stop. Overall NFS is a decent game, but much too arcadish for me. Its all a matter of what kind of game you want. PGR is about as arcade as I can tolerate..

Forza is better than both and looks solid on the 360. It's the only racing game that i play, single player, on the 360.
