Robin simply regurgitated the AutoWeek report, with comments from Fred Nation that any concrete news of a reunification is very premature.

I think it's pretty obvious that Tony George and Kevin Kalkhoven are talking. But there's also no deal yet.

I know but at least it appears both sides have buried the hatchet and are talking to each other instead of about each other. It's in the best interest of the sport as you well know the something gets worked out. At least the big wigs on both sides have acknowledged the samething.

The thing that really pi$$es me off are all the Champ Car and IRL loyalists who hope they won't work something out. Tony and KK have each come up with some very good ideas in the past with their respective series. I can't wait to see what they come up with to counter Nascar. It will be hard for sure.

I for one am pulling for this to happen and I use to be the biggest CART fan around.

If there
is anyoneone who wished for this not to happen they are not fans in any sense of the word. The Miller piece did have some interesting quotes from KK that I have not seen anywhere else. The one that is pretty bold is this one.

"If people truly care about open wheel racing in America, then please go away and leave Tony and I alone." - KK

That is a pretty bold statement and the plot thickens......

Amen to that brother. And I like to add that even though I was a huge CART fan I have to respect TG for shelling out cash to make his idea work. There were some things he did that were good. Brickyard 400 and Formula One. His original idea of the IRL was good unfortunately it got out of hand and it became another CART with regard to overall cost and running things, just my .02 cents.

Time heals all wounds and now maybe KK and TG can see what things worked in the past and what ideas did not. I do look forward to see what they can come up with and none other than a kick a$$ field at Long Beach and Mexico City.
