    George: "We're Actively Pursuing Reunification."

Motorsports coverage includes news, highlights, rankings and more spanning NASCAR, Formula 1, NHRA, ARCA, MotoGP, IndyCar and more auto racing circuits.

I'll just say its about time that he acknowledged the obvious. For 10 years he has put the kibash on any dealer that has come across the table, and finally something is happening. The irony is that he is being pressured by Honda and former Cart teams... who on his side. I for one am pleased, especially if the resolution to all of this is smart and logical. Life is too short for this crap, get the job done and get everybody excited again. You are not going to get outside fans if the hardcore ones are barely appeased. If you give us something good, it will eventually be passed on to the people who ran for the exits so many years ago.

I totally agree and it's about time. I have a different opinion on why the two sides now have decided to get a move on the situation.

Because of the marketing machine that is Nascar, American Open Wheel Racing is pretty much off the map in the US. Even with the IRL's fast and wild finishes and exiting races, few care anymore especially in the US.

The same goes for Champ Car, some of the best drivers and some pretty cool road and street racing with good racing as well and few care about it either.

The Indy 500 has been getting some negative press as well when we've heard the last couple of years "will there be enough cars to field Indy"?

It's too bad because i'll take the racing of the IRL or Champ Car anyday over watching some of the homoginized racing coming out of Nascar. IMO I don't like todays Nascar as much as I did when I first watched it back in the 80's and 90's.

Hopefully we'll get to see more than 33 cars battle it out for spots on the gird at Indy just like in years past. Bring back bump day, bring back the specticle and drama that was Indy and made
    it unique.

I think these cats can and will pull it off. Now they seem to be less hateful and more on the same page than ever before. I also think when this deal goes through it will be a fresh start for both camps as both series will probably do a reset with a totally different car packagae than what's available today that both sides are using now. IOTW it won't appear like someone won so thererfore there had to be a loser.

Unification is good and about damn time. And we have Nascar to thank for bringing to foes back to the table.
