    CONGRATS SCOTT SPEED!

WAY TO GO SPEED! Earning the first point for an american in eons in f1. What an ending as well for Button, but his loss is speeds gain!

Why did Button not want to cross the finish line? I know the commentators mentioned a penalty, but I'm a bit new to the F1 rules.

I did not see the race only the results. LOL there were only 13 cars that finished so while I add my congrats I wait for more results with a larger field on the track.

Engines have to last 2 week-ends. If it's your first race with the engine and you finish the race and then change the engine before the next race, you get penalized 10 spots on the grid. If your engine blows up during the race and prevents you from finishing, you can have a new engine for the next race without penalty.

That was one crazy race! Even diehard nascar fans would be satisfied with this one. I think Button kept his foot in it until he was told to park it by the team. That's what the replay indicated to me. He pulled over offline but kept pounding it until just a few carlengths away. Alonso is on another planet right now. After he disposed of Jenson it was just "later tater!" Button blowing up at the end seemed kind of fitting. Fisichella getting tongue lashed by his engineer over the radio was priceless. Good stuff.

Also realize that Honda probably didn't want further public embarrassment, seeing one of its cars crossing the finish line up in smoke or in flames. Sounds foolish, but image is everything for engine manufacturers in the most televised form of motorsport on the globe.

JC is right: That was a great race. So much action, so many variables and some really good wheel-to-wheel dicing. Roll on Imola!

            Take care,
