I usually start back a ways, and the only indication I seem to have is a beep. From the beep it seems to be about 3 seconds to the start, but I'm not sure where the tachometer needle should be in order to avoid getting burned by the other cars off the line.

TOCA 3: How do you get a good start off the line?
Does anyone that has TOCA 3 have any tips regarding getting good starts at the beginning of races?

The cars seem to each have their own "sweet spot."
Generally, when getting a feel for the car, I start by holding the tach at 8 to 10, and adjusting from there. This is playing on manual shifting, without clutch. Also, I'm using the analog triggers on the XBox for throttle, to allow me to precisely hold at the sweet spot.
Hope this helps. -

Try this: When you're on the line waiting for the start, rev the engine right up to the start of the red line on the tachometer. Don't go into the red. When the race starts, drop the revs just a touch and then gently reapply the power until your right finger has the trigger planted to the back of the Xbox controller.
The key thing is launching the car with the revs at the red line and then dropping the revs very slightly to avoid spinning the tires. Once your tires "hook up," you can reapply the power gently and quickly to rocket off the line.
Practice makes perfect, as with everything. Good luck!
Take care,

When does everyone race TOCA 3? I have sent PK a friend request a few times but I never see him on. My tag is IAMSPDRCR. I race Indycars a lot (lol go figure) and Baja Buggy Kit cars. In fact I'm leading the rankings in those two series. I also like to race the Palmer Audi cars and GT lights. Anyways I love to race so hit me up and lets have some fun.Team Tonis Kasemets

No worries, man. I hope us DSP cats are back in action Wednesday night, May 31. I return from Indy May 29.
Hope you can join us! I have a couple of guys from work who are getting XBL and are interested in racing with us.
Take care,
