July 14, 2006 - An EA representative confirmed Thursday that there will be no NASCAR 07 on the Xbox 360. There are current-generation versions slated for release, but does the lack of a next-gen NASCAR title mean the death of the franchise? Not likely.

I guess that may not be a bad thing after all. After watching the new Nascar 07 videos it's basically Nascar 06 Total Team Control with in car special effects like "Blur effect" and the cockpit shaking when your going real fast. It looks, sounds like last years game.

Which makes NASCAR 2005 an even better buy at $14.99 used at EB or even cheaper on eBay or half.com. NASCAR 2005 was an excellent game and MUCH better game than NASCAR 06.

Would you really expect EA to do anything different? lol. They should be called UA.. for Upgrading Arts. This is Nascar 2006.5

Not that big of a deal to me since I kept my Xbox when I got a 360. Even if they did release it, I'm sure it would be a stripped down version for $10 more.

I was in Gamestop today and I have a good friend who manages it, he said that he is hearing rumors internally that nascar 07 will come out on the 360, BUT....it will be released in February, and it will have a completely different game engine built from the ground up. I have no link, but this guy has always gave me good information.....so it would be interesting to see what type game they would build.......just thought I would throw that out for you guys

I've read somewhere else the same thing that EA will release a Nascar game around the time of the 2008 Daytona 500. It would be nice if they came out with something totally new.

At the very least EA could make nascar 2006 backwards compatible so we have some representation of nascar on the 360

You'd be better off if NASCAR 2005 was BC -- it's a much better game than NASCAR 06.
