nascar 07 review (xbox and ps2

gamespot review only gave it a 7.0 saying it was rather dissapointing

The Good: Cars feel faster than ever; lots of licensed and unlicensed tracks; dodge challenges are enjoyable.

The bad Graphics are dated; virtually unchanged from nascar 06; career mode is tedious; several well-known drivers are missing; only four players can race together online.

for those wondering the missing drivers are carl edwards Ken Schrader, Travis Kvapil, Terry Labonte, Kenny Wallace, Bill Elliott.

Yea i'm not liking it to much, I bought it today and played it for a few hours. Luckily guy at work wants it and is going to give me $35 for it so no big deal and didn't lose much.

How in the world is Carl Edwards? Ken Schrader? not in the game, Makes no sense to me

I give the Gamespot review a 2.0 out of 10. The 7.0 may be justified, but the reasoning given is total crap. At the tail end of the console lifecycle they are knocking the game because the graphics aren't drastically improved and they aren't any huge new features to add? The Fight to the Top mode was lauded as great in 2005 and now it is not fun anymore? Give me a break...

In my limited time with it, I think it is definitely improved over Nascar 06 and feels like they have recaptured some of the fun that was lost in 2006. I'm more pleased they didn't add more pointless features and instead tried to fix some of the problems introduced in the last game. But I guess my expectations for the game are unique compared to Gamespot who apparently want a next-gen experience on a current gen platform.

IGN wasn't much better with a 7.5.....I dont think I'll be buying another Nascar game until a next-gen one comes out.

I'm renting NASCAR 07 for sh*ts and giggles, and probably will stick with my copy of the excellent NASCAR 2005 that I got for $10 on eBay.

            Take care,

As a NASCAR fan, I'm enjoying it. I find it has some of the best racing action the series has put out. I agree with the take on Gamespot and IGN, where they are looking for a next gen game on a current console. There are some drivers missing, but the game itself provides a very good sim aspect IMO that the series has lacked for a while.
