Link for Demo and my Review Nascar 2003

I run the game on 1600 x 1280 16 bit all details maxed...except that feature that says Gamma...(who the heck knows what that is btw)...all i got to say is that the graphics are almost exactly the same. Granted pit crews, window dirt, sparks when hitting the wall, cracks visable on roads, all are new and nice....BUT it is the same grapfics for the most part....(btw it looks good...but 2002 looks good).....how do i check framerate by the way? Runs silky smooth however here.... I am using an athlon XP 2200 with my MSI Geforce Ti 4400 and 512 mbs of 2700 DDR Ram..................................... I would also like to ask opinions on gameplay... I find the turning at fast speeds is WAY to forgiving.......although car being shaky off turns seems fun.... I find control wise the game is better!! handling seems more realistic and forcefeed back works with steering assistance. I FIND CARS rears are WORSE than 2002.....but im about to plug in some cars from 2002 to see if that corrects that problem. OPINIONS OPINIONS....Lets Here It .... Overall with the new additions in the grapfics department it is worth the 50 bucks (Mainly because UNLIKE EA, Sierra doesnt robb you after you purchase their game by taxing you 6 bucks a month)

Heres the link for the demo...Try it yourself and see... http://www.3dgamers.com/games/nascar...2003/#filelist

That sounded about like I felt after the first race or two.

After I tweaked it and played it more, I started to get a grip on how much they changed the physics. As for the graphics, yes, they use pretty much the same stuff. I think it's the lighting that really changes the game's atmosphere. If you expected something vastly different from N02, I definitely understand your disappointment. I don't think a lot of people were expecting wholesale changes to the game.

Press F to get your FPS.

I maxed everything and tunred all the eye candy on (Gamma also Im not familiar with, and didnt seem to change anything anyways). I was only getting 25-45 FPS in traffic but I was hitting 50-70s when running solo.

Seems low to me, but I also never tweaked my vid card or settings in 2002 to up my frame rate either. The lower frame rates still seem a lot smoother then 2002 tho.

            For the record I am running a 2ghz P4, 512 ram, GF4 ti4400.

Gamma is basically the brightness level on your video card, rather than setting it on your monitor. Nothing more.

Anyone eles notice?....that great looking sun rays does not apply if you use cockpit view like i do......you hv to use an outside the cockpit view for it to effect you......but in cockpit view as you go around the track the dashboard (instruments) does go from bright to dark depending on where the sun is.....i just hope you can get the glare in cockpit view before its release For those that used steering assistance on 2002....if you put your steering assistance (advance controler options) at 15% that should be enough....try it...less help but very controled car and i believe more fun.
