Re: Need help for NFS Carbon
You can only buy upgrade parts for the tier car that you're using. So your starter is a Tier 1, and you've unlocked Tier 1 performance upgrades, yet your Mustang might be a Tier 2 or 3, you can't upgrade it until you unlock the Tier 2 or 3 parts. -
Re: Need help for NFS Carbon
I just bought the game a couple of days ago. I went to the Marketplace and they had all kinds of things for sale including the Limited Edition Cars and Tracks pack for 800 points.
My question is this, can you get the Limited Edition Cars and Tracks Pack in the game by unlocking them or do you have to purchase it in order to get these items.?Comment

Rod, what do you think of the game as a whole? I had a love/hate relationship with this game the entire time I owned it and was tempted last week that it was $37 to pick it up again for one more chance, but I held off.Comment

Re: Need help for NFS Carbon
What really has me hooked right now is the online portion and I really need to start my Career in the game so I can get some cool cars to take online. Once I saw the Fire Truck in an online race doing 150 mph I knew I was hooked.

Re: Need help for NFS Carbon
I haven't tried online, but I did just get the game a couple of days ago (I hated the demo as well). Even the sales rep at EBGames told my wife "you know this game is horrible, right?".
I'll probably go back down there and kick him in the teeth later, because I've had an absolute blast with this game. Running through the career, I started on Exotics and I'm now running the Lotus Elise and Porsche (racer and drift setups, respectively) and having a blast. Some of the racing action is so twitchy-fast that it really gets me into it. It's as pure arcade as it gets, but it's close to a PGR-style of arcade. The physics are based in reality, you just have a hyper-grip model. It's predictable, and very enjoyable.
I've knocked out the 3 main bosses so far and just started working on the last area and had an absolute blast all the way through as of yet.Comment

Re: Need help for NFS Carbon
I need help with the drifting in this game. I using the Mazda 8 tuner car that you start off with and haven't customized anything yet (mainly because I don't know if I need to or not), and I cannot figure out the right way to drift. How much gas to you use and when to you break, and which break do you use? Do you use the gas through the turns or just coast those? Do you only break when you are losing control? Thanks.

Re: Need help for NFS Carbon
With the Wii controls, I never could get a drift to work with the steering wheel style control. I changed to another controller setup just for drift races and I can do pretty well on them now. I guess the steering wheel configuration was just to touchy for me on the drift races.
