Can someone tell me how?
How DEI can always run at the front of the pack at Daytona, it seems like those guys always have a "advantage" over everyone else can anyone explain this?http://flotn.blogspot.com

Wind tunnel and horsepower. They choose to spend their dollars in the wind tunnel, getting every possible advantage there. Of course their setups at the two tracks aren't bad either.
But bottom line, when it comes to the superspeedway performances, the wind tunnel is far and away the most important...and having some engineers who can actually interpret the data, make the necessary changes, and then check it some more. It's probably a combination of everything with that team. -

Re: Can someone tell me how?
I'm not a gearhead but I like watching NASCAR another thing that can be said about why DEI was so dominant this past week was because it's a Chevy. Seems that pit crews of the other makes (Dodge and Ford) are complaining about the advantage of the Chevy in that the Chevy because of it's body is actually benefiting from the new unfiorm Car Aerodynamics rules.
This is something we'll have to keep track of because Chevys were extremely dominant all this past week and not just DEI cars.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Can someone tell me how?
I would agree. It is pretty obvious to me that Chevy's aero advantage is far more than the other 3 car makers. They will more than likely do something to slow Chevy down if it continues in the next couple of weeks.Favorite Sports Teams
NFL - Carolina Panthers
NBA - Charlotte Hornets
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
College Basketball - Wake Forest

Re: Can someone tell me how?
Flipside to the possible aero advantage is that all the Chevy drivers were complaining about heat in the draft. You noticed how Jr and the RCR cars were constantly sneaking out of the draft and grabbing air up until the first 2 pit stops. Once they figured out they could remove a little tape and run as fast they were good.
So each week I think the Chevy's will struggle a little bit with heat problems at least in the first races at the duplicate tracks.
There were a couple of Ford's up front tho. Anyone driving Pontiac anymore? Dodges looked weak tho. I think Petty and Rusty were the best of the Dodges later in the race.Comment
