Re: 1Up Review
Yeah, and you know what, Im glad they didnt hype the game up. A big part of the low 6.5 score is because, and I quote the reviewer:
<B>"It's incredibly frustrating, and most veterans probably won't want to bother, focusing instead on the standard season modes. It's too bad, too -- the previous years' games have all featured very compelling career modes. Why Tiburon made the choices they did here is just confusing. Not only is it too heavy with the licensing on the front end, but it completely destroys any feeling of real-world progress. The Craftsman and National series (both included in the game) are completely inconsequential now. The previously included Featherlite series has been excised entirely. And housekeeping like signing sponsors and building new cars is nonexistent, something fans of the sport and its intricacies will sorely miss. The career mode doesn't actually feel like...well, a career anymore."</b>
and at the end of the summary it was...
<b>"Learn to deal with the artificial intelligence on particular tracks, and the experience in an enjoyable one. Just as long as you're not looking for a very deep -- or even all that logical -- career mode."</B>
EA.... you fail.__________________________________________________ ____

Re: 1Up Review
Well, I had planned to get this game, but since I don't race online, the lack of a career mode kills it for me. Mark my words, the career mode we were used to will be back next year or the year after. EA Sports has a long track record for giving us stripped down games (feature and mode-wise) for their first version on the new consoles. That BS about wanting to try something new this year, was just that: BS!
EA: You won't get anymore of my NASCAR money until you give me a legitimate career mode again.Comment

Re: 1Up Review
Lack of a career mode is a killer for a lot of people. That review is pretty solid in my opinion; the driving model is the best it's ever been and the cars are genuinely fun to drive. For me, that makes it worth a look instantly, since the cars handle so believably. But the AI definitely does some strange stuff on occasion, and the Chase mode is just...odd. Pretty much agree with that entire review, but I don't know if I'd personally score it a 6.5. Even most of the review is positive, talking about the upgrades in the game and what "makes the difference" this year, etc. But the reviewer is probably a lot like blackceasar. You can have a great handling game, but you want to "get into" the game as a NASCAR driver. You can't without a decent career mode, so for a ton of people, they'll never even bother.

Re: 1Up Review
2. Ive played the game enough to know there is no real career mode. The gameplay itself is rock solid. prob best ever but the lack of a real career mode is a killer to alot of people. And I quoted what the reviewer wrote, I didnt write that myself. Why do you have to have played the game 40 hours now to know there is no real career mode???__________________________________________________ ____

Re: 1Up Review
We agree where it matters to me the most. I just don't have the time to put into an in-depth, multi-dimensional career mode. I wanted EA to deliver the gameplay goods so that I can enjoy NASCAR racing. If your decision/review score rests on the career mode, or lack thereof, then I can understand your point.Comment
