    Favorite Tracks in NASCAR 08

    Las Vegas:

I love racing here, with the new banking it's like a mini Daytona without the plate restrictions. You can almost get by without letting up on the gas, which you need to in turn 1 and 3, but I try to push it every time sliding around barely keeping control.

I'm starting to get the hang of the short tracks like Bristol. I guess the key is researching the track's average speed and just keeping the pedal pushed to that level (never gunning it all the way). I guess that's fairly obvious to the race fan, but it took this newcomer a few times around the track to figure it out.

Still yet to figure out Pocono.

Assuming you race with a good group of guys...

    1. Atlanta (fast, fast, fast)
    2. Texas (wide, watch turn 2)
    3. Richmond (side by side racin')
    4. Lowes (fast)
    5. Bristol (crazy but manageable)
    6. Vegas (wide and easy for noobs)
    7. Michigan (wide and easy)
    8. Homestead (flat track goes banked)
    9. Darlington (challenging, you'll leave with your stripe)
    10. Martinsville (timing is everything)
    11. Watkins Glen (fun road course)
    12. Phoenix (good change of pace)

Ok tracks: Daytona (boring at times), Pocono (good little curves), California (boring at times), Dover (think Bristol blown up)

Bad tracks: Chicagoland (horrible graphics), Infineon (inacurrate out dated, bad default setup), Talladega (about as fun as watching grass grow)

    Can't wait for...

Darlington (Day), Martinsville (night), Lowes (Day)

    I miss "The Rock" dearly!

Mniner, I agree with your assessment of most of the tracks as we have raced alot of them together, and I do think the Chicagoland track is weak in the graphic dept., but I love to race there. I would put it in my top 5 tracks to race at.

      1. Atlanta
      2. Texas
      3. Vegas
      4. Chicago
      5. Lowes

      H.mention- Michigan

-no one likes indy? I'm digging the track for its change of pace and famous recognizable landmarks as i drive by.

-Talladega is definitely the poor man's daytona. maybe it's my skills and setup, but i don't think you can go full throttle through all the turns there can you?

        -how is Infineon outdated?

still haven't tried enough of the courses to give a top and bottom 5.

By far Atlanta. I have spent almost all my time since I got the game working on a setup there. I am now running 28.1-28.4's consisently.

top 10 fastest tracks according to '07 qualifying times.

by the way, i have grown to hate martinsville. i'm guessing it's the hardest place to race.
