Re: Is Racing Gaming On Its Last Lap?

The only racing game I really play consistently is F1 06 for the PS2. That game is amazing and never gets old. I could see myself playing that game still 10 years from now. It's that good. I was never that into racing at all, but since I've been playing this game, now I find myself watching F1 races from time to time on the Speed channel.

F1 06 is an absolute keeper and I don't know how F1 racing could ever get better than that.

Funny you should mention that, because I've gone back to some old xbox 1 NASCAR titles because the gameplay is better on those than the NASCAR titles of the current generation, which has drone AI, fuel mileage bugs, etc.

When it comes to true racing sims, there really isn't anything worthy on the xbox 360, though I do like Race Pro. I also hear that the F1 game on the PS3 is decent.

I suppose my answer to the thread's question is that racing gaming on the current consoles has a pulse, but isn't exactly thriving. This far into this generation's cycle, you'd think devs would do more than slap better graphics on it and call it a day.

Forza is ok, but it's not a true racing sim, it's a driving sim.

I gots to get me a gaming PC!
