"In each of the three regions, you'll start as a fresh driver looking for a hire. It's a bit silly that you can proceed to championship levels in Europe and have to start at the bottom in Japan, but we understand the need for an advancement system." - Nintendo DS
"Actual gameplay mirrors the next-gen games', revolving around proving yourself a champion in three different regions of the world. We're not sure how the event count will compare to that of the HD versions, however."

Re: GameSpy: Race Driver: Grid Previews
A 24-minute 24 Hours of Le Mans race? What a joke.
And the excuse offered by Codemasters is even more ridiculous:
>>>>>Another step towards respectable casual-gaming friendliness is the inclusion of Le Mans solely as a 24-minute race. Each minute represents an hour of the grueling event, making it a more palatable affair to attempt. However, we're not sure we understand the appeal of racing "Le Mans" in 24 minutes. The whole point is that it is an all-day event, a test of mankind's ability to persevere in the face of extreme duress. Grimley pointed out that the logistics of bug-testing a real-time Le Mans made it a prohibitively difficult feature to include, but we would still really like to see it.<<<<<
Really? Infogrames was able to include a 24-hour version of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in Test Drive: Le Mans, which was released in 2000 for the Dreamcast and PSX. Yet Codemasters can't handle it eight years later?
OK. No problem.
Take care,
