Clearing up EA F1 Rumor and why sony F1 is dead

I remember a while back that EA, bought the license to F1 but from a Peter Moore quote isn't doesn't seem to be true, and in fact it is still in sony's possession.

    Peter's quote:

Formula One - This seems to be a popular question, and it seems many of our fans in Europe are interested in our thoughts about the game license. This one is simple. I am personally a huge fan, having grown up worshipping such great drivers as Graham Hill, Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart and James Hunt. The excitement that Lewis Hamilton has brought to the sport, and its vast global appeal, make it an appealing game license, but as of right now it is not available. Maybe in a few years the situation will change, but until then we fully respect the rights held by our partners at Sony.

Well it looks like sony is actually putting the F1 license to use in Gran turismo 5, in the euro version of GT5:P their are pics of the shell Formula car. Someone in the Media in Europe has an advance version of the game

So for those who thought the series was dead after F1:CE, will get the Formula 1 in GT5.

Actually, unless they have a mode with the full F1 championship with all the teams and tracks, and you don't actually have to collect money to buy an F1 car to enter the F1 championship, then this is not at all a good substitute for an actual F1 game.

Edit: Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure they've had F1 cars before in the GT series as "special" cars or whatever they call them. They aren't actually part of any series in the game but rather are just part of the car-collecting portion. You can drive them on the game's tracks but you can't race them. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong here.

yeah, but you'd think that if it had a full F1 championship mode in the game, it would have been known by now..especially from regions where F1 is popular.

Yep, my point exactly. I don't see any link between this and the F1 series license. It's much more likely that Polyphony Digital bought a license to use the Ferrari F2007 car in the game.

ZZZZZZZZ ... That pretty much sums up my feelings about the Gran Turismo franchise, in general.

So apparently the Ferrari F2007 is in GT5 ? Ah, it's all so clear now.
