    Project Gotham Racing 4

I just bought PGR 4 for 23 dollars, new. And after playing it for a while, I'm stunned this game did not become a massive commercial success.

I loved the original PGR and thought it was absolutely brilliant (I did not like PGR 2, never played 3). It did not take me long to realize that PGR 4 is an intense, arcade style racer that "feels" a lot like the original. The game is also drop dead gorgeous.

So again I ask (rhetorical question), how did PGR 4 manage to go under the radar?

PGR 4's release date came at the worst time. You mentioned all the shooters that came out. Halo 3's release was one week before PGR 4's. You've probably seen all of the Halo ads on TV, game stores and print... Unfortunately there was not much about anything else in terms of other games released around the time... Heck, I can't recall a single TV ad for PGR 4 (was there even one?), yet I can remember seeing ads for previous PGR games back when they were released.

Just downloaded the demo. I really like the behind-the-wheel cam. Plus, it's also fun to ram the bikers into walls.

yeah, but even the previous one was somewhat overlooked. It always seems like these games are $20 months after release. They're fun games, but just seem to straddle between genres enough to not get enough love. It's not sim like Forza 2, but it's not arcade enough like burnout or NFS.

In my opinion, this is the best racing game out on the 360. The differences in the cars, the bikes, night races and the weather(snow, sleet, rain, heavy rain, puddles, ect) which affects certain cars differently is just amazing.

Does this game support custom soundtrack feature?

I find it kinda hard to win. One little mishap and bam, I'm way behind the pack the entire race.

I know NFS: ProStreet is much more arcade oriented, but I seem to enjoy it more as it's easier to drive, and has lots of different playing modes.
