Why are these drivers not in Nascar 09

    00) Michael McDowell
    7) Robby Gordon
    8) Aric Almirola
    22) Dave Blaney
    66) Scott Riggs
    78) Joe Nemechek

I think these guys should have definately been in the game, especially over the 21 cars, Dale Jarrett(retired after 6 races) and some fake drivers, what do you guys think.

Yea, I agree withyou, but would you not want to race with them instead of fake drivers withnumbers in th 100's, I saynext year give them real unused numbers like the 13, and 14, etc.

I don't know about anyone else but I hate the fact the EA uses triple digit numbers on the cars!!!!!! There is no triple digit numbers used in the three major NASCAR divisions. Is there some sort of law or rule they (EA) have to abide by???? I like what Wal Mart did by allowing their name be on a car in the game. Great for advertisement purposes. They should still have a two digit number though! You would think more companies would do this. Like, Nike, Auto Zone, Checkers......etc.

I'm pretty certain that nearly every two-digit number in NASCAR is owned by one team or another. For EA to offer those to players, they'd likely have to secure licensing rights for every single number, which is a ridiculous expense.

Easy way around it? Make a custom car in Photoshop and download it into the game with whatever number you want. It shows that number everywhere except the stats pages (the cockpit view has a copy of your roof to show your number, so it'll be the same as well).

Actually, I think there are quite a few numbers that aren't leased by teams.

According to Jayski the following numbers are unassigned.

              0,3,13,14,23,25,30,32,35,36,51,52,53,54,56,59,61,6 2
              63,64,65,67,68,69,75,76,79,81,82,85,86,89,90,91,92 ,93,94,95,97
              04,05,06

Earnhardt's #3 isn't assigned, but RCR leases it on a yearly basis from NASCAR so no one else will grab it. I have no idea what's going to happen to the #3 in 2010 when NASCAR will limit owners to 4 teams, RCR will add the #33 on a full-time basis next year. I doubt they'll be able to lease 5 different numbers.

Exactly, EA needs to either put more real part-time drivers in, or use numbers not in use. I get tired of seeing triple-digit numbers in my races. It justtakes the realism out of it IMO.

I cant stand the 3 digit numbers on the race cars. For the record I wish they go ahead and retire #3 for Earnhardt personally. But anyway there are way too many 2 digit numbers out there for EA to not assign them to us the consumer. Keep it 2 digits at all times.
