What's the worst collision you had in GRiD?

Last night I'm racing at Le Mans. On the first straightaway, I'm trailing the pack. I hit 251MPH and am cruising.

I drive in the cockpit view and I see a some trouble up ahead. Clouds of smoke, debris, etc. I'm coming on it quick. At around 1000 ft, I start to see several cars. some are peeling out and then I see one car rolling...rolling...and rolling. I'm mesmerized by this rolling car and I take a glance back in front of me.

This disabled car is directly in my path. I'm going 251 MPH. You can guess what happens. I veer left, I still clip his right hind quarter. I swear his car must have flew 300-400 feet down the track in pieces. For me? My entire front end, wheels, glass everything comes flying off like my car had been shot by an 88mm cannon. I end up almost 1000 feet from the point of impact.

God, why can't you save your replays? C'mon Codemasters its freaking 2008...throw us a bone!

    Anyone else have something crazy?

Re: What's the worst collision you had in GRiD?

The worst collision I've seen is when I was racing against my opponent in the midnight touge event at Mount Haruna. I was in the left lane while my opponent was in the right lane. We were side-to-side with one another just about to head into a tight right bend that leads under a tunnel. And all of a sudden, two shining headlights appeared from around the bend heading our way. Uh oh! There's no room to swerve to the other lane if necessary because like I mentioned before, my opponent and I were side by side. So somebody is going to be in deeeep s---. Seconds later, my car got nicked on the side a little bit. But my opponent? Well, let's just say he wasn't as fortunate... LOL!

As for my worst collision, I got caught in a bad one while racing in the D (Detroit). I forgot which race it was, but I believe I was on the stretch on what's supposed to be Atwater Street, which goes along near the Detroit River. While driving the Koenigsegg CCGT, I badly misjudged the braking point and carried wayyy too much speed heading into the right-left chicane over there in that area. I had to be going about 120mph at impact. I saw nothing but a red screen from there, heh.

My first online session with "the boys", we were driving the Koenig and Zonda class, and I came up to one of those 70 degree corners. I was on the outside, but knew I could carry the speed faster than the opponent on my right, so I just dropped the hammer and drifted through the corner a bit. I pushed it further than I normally do, scraping the "Goodyear" off the tires a bit. I'm still accelerating hard and the car is just behind me to the inside (the pass worked) when I see, at the last second, a tire stack sticking out from the wall at the end of the corner's exit.

I hit that thing square on the LF at about 170, with my foot still on the floor. It corkscrews me up into the air, and I literally recreate the "Mig scene" from Top Gun. I'm upside down, airborne, flying across the track. My opponent is under me, a foot or so between us, because I can see the cockpit of his car out of the top of the windshield of mine. I felt like flipping him the bird. Another car made it under my flying wreckage and I don't think the hoots and hollers stopped for about 5 minutes. By the time I hit the ground, I barrel rolled it 6 or 7 times...and it was obviously totaled. Most memorable crash I've ever had in any game.

Re: What's the worst collision you had in GRiD?

I recently had a memorable crash at the full-length Grand Prix street circuit at Washington DC racing in the Lamborghini Murcielago. In the beginning section of lap 2 where there are three consecutive fast left bends, I was positioned too far outside navigating between the first and second bends and collided with a tire rack that sticks out on the outside (right) wall going at 150 mph. Did a triple somersault special and landed upside down... and then of course got nailed to the right wall by a group of trailing CPU cars moments later. The left front tire came off the car during the impact of the wall and flew about 100 yards ahead, and the front bumper that was also dislodged ended up under a trailing CPU car and got dragged for an even longer distance than that.

Heh, I would've loved to save a replay of that one.
