We need to complain to EA about the perf. points.

I've talked about the performance points engine glitch in other threads, but I wanted to put this out on it's own to catch as many people as possible.

We need to let EA know we aren't happy about the glitch that allows people who only upgrade their engine and nothing else to run ridiculously faster than those who upgrade everything. Goto the NASCAR09 forums on EAsports.com and let them know this needs to be fixed ASAP. So far EA has been quiet about the issue, so it'd be nice if people would take a few mins and go over there and make sure they know this is a mistake and the majority of us who race online want to see it fixed.

We now return you to your previously scheduled programming.......

Good thought Bahnz, unfortunately, it won't hold water, just as the Joytech, and Madcatz controllers ruined TW '08 for alot of folks, so will the speed glitch without any assistance from EA.

    It's quite sad really.

I'm toying with the thought of running a league for our group. That in itself should eliminate any un-sim exploits.

That's the thing tho, if we don't, en masse, as a group express our feelings on this then it *won't* get EA's attention. There's a difference between a third party controller that EA/MS doesn't control, and something like this, which they very much do.

I was reading some producer blog and at the bottom there was one comment. It read, "please patch the engine glitch ASAP." It was from our very own bahnzo. I totally wasn't expecting that.

Ha! Yeah I was reading that thinking, Big Deal, explaining how they green screened in Jeff Gordon. And when nobody had left any comments below it, I felt bad....so I left one. heh.

See, the thing is that the engine takes about 30 minutes of work or less to earn enough PP to max it. Maxing everything else would require a lot more time. I earned enough points to be able to max out everything pending the patch, unfortunately my game froze upon loading and became unplayable. At this point I was pretty happy that I would only have to work for about 30 minutes instead of devoting an entire day.
Playing sim is a disadvantage? I beg to differ:
              150-36 Madden 09 Record.
              20-4 Madden 10 Record.
              24-8 Madden 12 Record.

And while that's fine, it shouldn't make you 2 secs a lap faster than those who have maxed out everything else.

I would love to run a closed race with some people who don't talk non stop during the race.. Please email me if you guys do some closed racing. I want to see how this performs in a "sim" type environment too..

                    Hi, Darin.

I enjoy browsing your website and seeing how the sim community is growing.

So far, I've only raced online against a few guys from OS. For the most part, I think there are only a handful of guys that I would consider "sim type". (Understand how to create setups, hold lines, use wheels, disable assist, etc.)

Some folks that have never raced on a NASCAR game, have been intrigued by the fact that this game has gotten such positive feedback from respected sim racing OS'ers. (Enough that they've actually gone out and made a purchase.) As you may or may not have seen on the discussion threads, lot's of folks are asking racing 101 questions just to get their feet wet.

Based on what I've seen from your site... I think it'll be really difficult to get a group of guys, from OS, in a room that would consider themselves sim racers and that would actually live up to the billing. (Myself included.)

ea is not big on patching games. They have a history of doing nothing no matter how many of us complain about it. We need thousands of people to complain about this and even then ea will most likely ignore us. What's real sad is they are aware of most of these issues before a game is released and do nothing about it before the game is released.

Don't count on any form of support.

Well, apparently EA has somewhat acknowledged the problem....

                            From the latest producer blog:

Last thing, we have seen the reports of some problems surrounding the performance points and how they can be exploited. We are investigating the reported problems, and are examining the feasibility to fix those issues. We should have more info on that at a later date.
So nothing for sure, but they are at least aware of the problem. Hopefully it's a quick fix.
