After a couple of hours of play I am pretty happy with the game. First, it looks great and runs at a steady 60 fps with no slowdown at all (so far). The cars look really nice and are easy to handle. There are a lot of tracks and they are well designed.

I started the Championship mode and I have finished first in ever race so far, about 10 of them. Obviously the game will get harder, because I am just a so-so driver in racing games. The crashes are pretty well done, and I hear the Crash Mode (which I have yet to try) is a lot of fun.

Winning races in Championship mode unlocks other areas of the game. I unlocked a pursuit race, completed that, and that in turn unlocked the police car. I have unlocked two cars so far.

Sound is pretty good over all and the game lets you use the custom soundtrack feature, which is nice. The tunes are not played in random order, but you can jump to the next song at the press of a button (if you are using the automatic clutch).

The game seems very nice overall and is definitely tons of fun. This game and NBA Street 2 should keep me busy for a while.

supposed to be much better for xbox. Xbox live, plus lots of extras. Read that at IGN>
