NASCAR 25 Gold Edition releases today for XSX/PS5, Standard Edition coming 10/14

For anyone interested, the Gold Edition ($79.99) releases today for consoles. With standard edition coming Tuesday. PC Coming November 11th. More information: https://nascar25.com/

Only got to run two short ARCA races before work this morning. In that short amount of time I'm liking it so far. The car doesn't feel glued to the track like in Heat 5. A few things I've noticed missing so far is the driving line. Don't use it much on ovals but nice to have atleast for corners on road course.

Also not a fan of only being able to select unused numbers. Would like to be able to select any number I want and either A) get rid of the AI driver using that number or B) having duplicate numbers.

Looking forward to playing it more once I get home from work.

Yeah, definitely not glued to the track. I started off a race at Bristol and after a few lap I felt too loose and after tighening up from the default everything else was good. I ran about 40 laps there then ran about a dozen at Daytona before I had to get ready for work. Going to be a great weekend.

Played for about an hour or two this morning before work. Ran Chicago, Vegas, and North Wilkesboro. 100% not glued to the track. Was getting sideways a bunch at first due to too much gas, but was able to improve there. Have not messed with setup changes yet. Just wanted to try the new tracks and see what the gameplay was like. Having the racing line for the road courses would be nice when learning new circuits, but I was able to get decent at braking for the Chicago layout.
      My Teams:

      EPL - Liverpool FC
      MLB - Atlanta Braves
      MLS - Charlotte FC
      NBA - Charlotte Hornets
      NFL - Carolina Panthers
      NHL - Carolina Hurricanes

I played in single race and just played in practice times at Dover and Richmond. I totally agree, you are not glued to the track. I could run the time that was set for you to accomplish. If I had more than 12 other cars out there it would be a total disaster I do believe. This is going to be a learning curve for sure which I do like.
A few things popped out to me from the 2 hours I did play it.
1- you cannot race all the tracks in single race I.e. Atlanta for one.
2- I would like to see the screen showing you what place you are in. Maybe that can happen in a race, I’ve not gotten that far.
3- you cannot take your eyes off the screen ( I only race in the cockpit view) You are bouncing about and taking a glance at you time and you find yourself up against the wall.
4- I wish there was a tutorial for what it does to your car if you change certain things in the garage.
5- Speaking of a tutorial, I wish there was a section where they had a game manual for you to read and give your helpful news as to how to do this or that.
6- You cannot edit a driver in any way. This means you cannot change drivers when in real life they are fired or really in the real off season when drivers change rides. It losses the realistic feel of them game when. You know drivers are now in the wrong car. Changing rating /drivers would have been nice like they had in NR2003.

Overall I think this game has a good start and worth the money and time you will spend playing it. I feel it will surpass NR2003 if they decided to throw out some update/patches in the near future like most games do.

#1: you sure it’s not listed under “EchoPark Speedway”? Which is its official name currently.

#2: press b on Xbox, think that’s O on PS and it’ll rotate through some screens and one of those is a relative standings. Think it also tells you during the race in top right corner your in position as X/XX.

#6: I think that’s a nascar teams/sponsor rule thing. For example Hendrick doesn’t want to see Larson in a Penske car. I think it’s stupid but so much money these days behind sponsors, they don’t want their driver portrayed driving for another sponsor.

It definitely kills the longevity of the game though. Especially on console where theres no hope of mods.

#1- Ahhhhh, I will have to look at EchoPark. I dis see that track.
#2- I will look into that but I think I pressed that, I was pressing every button on my TM wheel…lol
#6- It kills the realism and the immersion of the games. Plus with the game coming out in October, we have already read some “silly season” rumors of changes. maybe I racing will put out a new drivers set in early February before the a season with those changes.. If they only do it in October, which I feel is one of the worse times to put out a NASCAR game it kills your game for the next season up until October.
I am in the thinking that once we purchase the game we can change things, but as we know NASCAR has their weird ways of doing things and it seems most of them are really dumb and anti fan base……and they wonder why their fan base is going away. The Show, Madden or really every sports game allows you to put players on other teams without complaining.

I found a lot of cheat sachets on setup online that you can download which will soften the learning curve on setup. I am not much into the one click style setups.

            Thanks for the update.

p.s. I wonder how long the PC guru’s will be able to make those changes when they get it? I may have to go that route if I start seeing the game being built better via the computer guys doing mods and finding ways to upgrade on what is already there. NR2003 became the greatest of all time because of the PC guys out there.

I don't know why NASCAR would want to stop people from doing something like putting, for example, Kyle Larson in the 88 car,and then release the game on PC when you can easily put any driver any where. My hope is at some point in the future IRacing creates a vault to share with others our creations. And then download from that vault some work from the PC version.

I’m guessing it’s more the teams/sponsor than nascar. Like FedEx doesn’t wanna see Hamlin driving a UPS car. Or McDonalds seeing Bubba driving a Wendy’s car, etc.

N25 doesn’t have built in mod support, so even once the pc crew figures out how to mod it, it won’t be like iRacing/nascar approves of it.

Yeah, my guess is Fedex doesn't want to see Hamlin with a UPS sponsor but they're going to see it anyway, regardless of IRacing/NASCAR approval. And since IRacing/NASCAR gave approval to a PC version, they give their approval to see it anyway, lol.

Has I Racing said anything about releasing any updates or patches with this game? I hope the will but they may stay with what they have and only release updates called NASCAR 2026 and so on.

                      My thoughts so far

                      1. One thing I just noticed is that (unless I'm missing something), there is no way to view the complete season standings in career mode. It shows you your position at the top of the screen when you're at you HQ, but there doesn't seem to be a way to view the complete standings
                      2. Being visually impaired, the HUD display at the top left is hard to read (racing in far bumper cam on PS5).
                      3. Racing line with braking indicators would definitely be helpful on the road course
                      4. Getting the car into reverse if you need to back up is difficult, seems like you have to hit the L2 button (PS5) twice to get into reverse on auto transmission
                      5. Being as the Mexico City track isn't in the game, it appears they made N. Wilkesboro a points race in the Series to maintain the 36 race schedule, but just shorted the other Series' schedules instead of replacing the missing tracks.
                      6. Only a global AI difficulty setting ranging from 85-105. Was really hoping each track could have its own AI diffficulty slider or at least each track type because I'm way better at some tracks than I am at others.
                      7. Really need to make the intro videos in career mode skippable. I don't care to sit through those, I just want to jump in and start racing.

                      Pirates : 1909, 1925, 1960, 1971, 1979
                      Panthers (FB): 1915, 1916, 1918, 1929, 1931, 1934, 1936, 1937, 1976

I did a full Daytona quick race. In the Duel 60 lap race I finished 2nd. In the 500 full 200 lap race I was doing fine until someone knocked me off the track and into pit lane. I got a black flag for speeding in pit lane lol. After that I was a few laps behind the lead lap but battled to finish around 21st.

My initial impression was iRacing did a helluva lot better job than Ignition but that was a pretty low bar to pass to begin with.
After a handful of races I thought 25 was at the very least on par with Heat 5, which is all I needed with iRacing's first foray into console gaming but now after a dozen races in, NASCAR 25 far exceeds anything from the Heat series AFAIC tho there are a few things in Heat that iRacing would be wise to incorporate eventually.

I was so glad to see the twin duels in.

I don't know what it patched but there was an update waiting for me when I woke up this morning and it wasn't there last night.

Except...they didn't. Mods aren't supported by iRacing or Nascar. Just because someone mods the game doesn't mean the developers approve it.

The patch was to fix force feedback issues with wheels. Not sure if it affected controllers. So far it's for PS5 only. They haven't released the patch yet for xbox.
