best Xbox driving game?

I need something to tide me over til football.

What are people's opinions on various Xbox racing games (I don't have XBL)?

I was thinking about Midtown Madness when it comes out b/c you can drive around DC, and since I live there, it'd be kinda cool.

Hmm I'll give it a shot. I'm not huge into racing but for $20 each you can't go wrong with Project Gotham Racing and Rallisport Challenge.

Apex is said to be a lot of fun although I have yet to play it. Burnout 2 looks great and is the fastest racing game out for the Xbox. Umm, Midtown should be great when that comes out, same time Midnight Club does for Xbox. Moto GP 2 comes out soon and should be a lot of fun.

Hopefully somebody into racing came give you advice, all I'm doing is listing games.

Well, asking everybody else what's the best is sort of a moot point. I'd tell you to go rent them and formulate your own opinion, which is why I haven't answered.

But if I had 50 bucks and needed one game, I'd probably keep World Racing on XBox, and Project Gotham after that.

I would go with Project Gotham, I couldn't get into World Racing although it looks visually fabulous.

Apex is fun.

Burnout 2 is actually a lot of fun, racing through traffic is pretty cool, I have enjoyed it so far, but for $20 you can't go wrong with Project Gotham

I'll second the Project Gotham for $20. Rallisport also is a steal for that price.

I really enjoy World Racing, and I haven't been able to stop playing Pro Race Driver.

Moto GP also is an incredible game, but Moto GP 2 will be released in less than two weeks, so you might want to hold off for that.

If you have any interest in NASCAR, NASCAR Heat 2002 absolutely crushes any edition of EA's NASCAR Thunder in terms of realism.

I would have to say Ralisport challenge, Its a rally game but damn fun. and the grapics are some of the best on Xbox (rival Halo)

Believe it or not (Terry will probably laugh at me for saying this) I really fell in love with Sega GT. This after hating it for a very long time.

I actually bought the full version, then sold it not long after that because I totally didn't like it... but a couple of months ago, a friend of mine gave me his copy which came with his Xbox because as he said "I hate it so much, I don't even want it in my house! AT ALL!!!).

LOL. Anyways, after getting to the second season and unlocking most of everything, I am going to say something strange.

Sega GT is now one of my alltime favorite racing games. Ever. Up there with the original Need for Speed on the 3DO, Grand Prix Legends and Nascar Racing on the PC.

Sure the graphics can be kind of drab (some of the tracks when racing at dusk are flat out gorgeous though) but hot damn, I absolutely completely LOVE this game now.

Just be wwarned, it's an aquired taste and some people can't get over that initial time frame where the game is kind of boring.
