Supposedly the B sample was negative. Honestly I would not put it past nascar to do everything they can to keep Mayfield out. Nascar doesn't like people beating them and the way they run things, they've done things unfair before. If Mayfield wins, it throws out basically all their "rulings" as most of the rules are written where Nascar says they can do anything they want.
Now if Mayfield really is a drug user, I don't know how he hid this. To fail a test when you know they are testing you all the time it just plain stupid. For that, he has to be hooked bad.Comment

I agree with you NASCAR would try anything bc all they are concerned about is money. I watch NASCAR regularly but they make the rules as they go and try to place big name drivers in better postion with these random debris cautions. For example Giving Tony Stewart the win at Talladega last year over Regan Smith and voting Joey Logano and Home Depot in the All Star Race. How about waiting all day to try to finish the Coke 600 when Reutimann was in fornt. They didn't wait 15 min to call the race when Logano was out front.
I wouldn't put it past NASCAR to pay off Jermey's Stepmom to say he was a meth user. I did think it was funny that Jermey is going to sue her for killing his dad. Go ahead and just sue the world Jermey!!!Comment

The most important aspect in all of this is that Mayfield has openly stated that he has a prescription for Adderall. Informed NASCAR about it well in advance. Adderall would produce a false positive for Meth. I get the impression that NASCAR is just trying to save face by running this guy into the ground rather than admit that their methods of testing are subpar in comparison to the big four in pro sports.
As a precaution he had himself tested independantely by a non-biased third party who in fact has concluded that he doesn't have meth in his system. These test were taken within hours of NASCARs tests. Smart move by Mayfield to cover his butt the second time around...he probably had a sinking feeling that NASCAR would try and railroad him as a last ditch effort. I'd bet the house that if NASCAR knew that Jeremy intended to run tests on his own the second false positive probably wouldn't have happened. Huge blow to the credibilty of NASCAR and he caught them red handed.
Sadly NASCARs resources run deeper than Mayfields.

I love NASCAR the sport but not NASCAR the giant monopoly corporation. They can do whatever the he!! they want because they got money and they can pay their way to the top. The thing I don't like is you support NASCAR with everything little thing you do bc of sponsors. You have no choice bc if you use gasoline (Shell) or eat cereal (Kellogs) they make money. How about wahing you clothes (Tide) or shaving (Gillette). I mean if you get out of bed NASCAR is making money off of you. I can chose not to support soccer or some other sport by not watching or buying tickets. I understand they have to have sponsors but we pay more for our daily expenses bc of NASCAR.
The only thing NASCAR can't do is stop the rain and if they could pay God off they sure as he!! would try.Comment

nascar doesn't really make money that way. Just because you use a product that is a sponsor in NASCAR doesn't mean they get money.
The corporate sponsors pay to get their logos on the cars because NASCAR fans are usually very brand loyal and willingly pay to wear products that have corporate logos on them. The product exposure during a NASCAR event provides more bang for their buck than a superbowl commercial will.Comment

I agree with you 100%. Superbowl commercials are not going to make somebody go out and buy a Chevy over a Ford. However if you like Dale Jr. you are more likely to buy a Chevy or Ford if you like Carl Edwards. On the other hand I believe a Coke/Pepsi decision will be based on pure taste not who drinks what.
What I mean about NASCAR making the money is the sponsors pay the owner and that money goes toward paying the entry fee each race. Inspections are not cheap if you remember back to Daytona when it cost Tony Stewart $25,000 for each car he has inspected. I believe both him and Ryan Newman both went to a back up car. Old Spice and the Army's sponsor money probaly payed some for that resulting in higher consumer cost so they can make a profit.
