Nascar 09 Chase for the Cup

Hey guys, im new to the forum and am having trouble with nascar 09, i got a logitech wheel and thats all sweet but the main thing im mad about is that i set up the race to 100% distance standard wear etc, opponents to Hard and set the Adaptive strength on assuming that it keeps the races close, but i keep getting away from the pack and taking off.... I want a close race were i finish in a reasonable position not always first place...

Can anyone help me with the adaptive strength thing and what it means or what i can do to get the races closer??

I have been online but as like most ppl im not great with set-ups, ive tried one for the auto club speedway and i get hig 40.'s but im still slip sliding around the track and using up tyres in like 15 laps lol, any ideas also?

Don't use adaptive strength, it's terrible.

Isn't there a difficulty level higher than 'hard'? I've got the game but not played it for a few weeks that's all.

Try driving with a crappy setup, or the default one, that will make it harder. you'll probably finish in reasonable positions.

Sorry dude there is nothing you can do bc hard is as high as you can go. I asked this question earlier and nobody really knew. I am like you I want competition and not run away. There is no in between you are either really good or really suck. 08 was actually competitive but every one fussed so EA made 09 easier.

Off topic: 08 AI competitiveness with 09 AI driving ability and the 09 graphics and physics would make a great game. Add realistic damage and allow us to have influence on pit road and pit stops would make one he!! of a game. Got to capture the intensity and emotion of NASCAR. How cool would it be to get a pay back under caution or throw your helmet when you crash out

Anyway back on topic turn all assists off and run the veteran setup with 0% tape and see how that does. If it works post back for all of us.

I started nationwide at daytona in chase for the cup, i had ai adaptability on, and kept it on rookie setup, and it was easy until i hit top 10 and than the cars sped up and i could barely get into first place which was actually quite fun, but i ended up getting taken out and hit the inside wall, i was still in the race but the engine was damaged so i had no hope from there,

Ill try taking all the tape off and let you guys know how it goes.

I have been trying to get a league going online where everyone runs veteran setup. If interested check out the Nascar 09 Online IROC Series thread on the list.
