According to Gamespot, NASCAR and EA Sports Part Ways.
"NASCAR fans hoping for the full-fledged return for the series to console videogames will have to look in directions other than at EA Sports. Speaking with GameSpot News today, EA Sports president Peter Moore confirmed that the sports game developer has "no plans" for a new NASCAR racing game. From the news story:

The racing really only translates to strict sim racing, which is why EA is stepping away from it. They can't find a way to Madden-ize it for more casual console gamers/NASCAR fans without it losing the appeal to everyone.
NASCAR should be a sim racing experience, but in doing so, it will always be a niche game.Comment
