Forza 3 way worse than NFS shift???
I played the Forza 3 demo, and it felt very controlled, boring, and easy for the most part. also the graphics weren't too good as compared to shift, and the in-car view was AWFUL as compared....the shift in car is amazing. anyway, i felt kinda bored and not exhilarated. when i play nfs shift, its just like that commercial, i FEEL the speed, and its nerve-racking to go 180, it feels so fast....when i start to lose control, i have to really fight my car to get back in control....besides spinning out i felt totally in control like i was just telling my car when to turn, and nothing else on forza...and plus shift looks so much better. Has anybody else noticed this??? nfs could really take over forza in the next couple years. i always thought forza was the class of the pack(even though i only played the demos)...idk? anyone else agree/disagree?Tags: None -

Re: Forza 3 way worse than NFS shift???
i understand that its a demo, but im just saying from a gameplay standpoint, nfs shift has it owned. and how much better can the full version possibly get. they are both great games, and having some serious competition will just make them both even betterComment

Re: Forza 3 way worse than NFS shift???
I feel where the thread starter is coming from. Even though I owned the first two Forza's, I never really put a lot of time into them. It's not that they were bad games, they just didn't pull me in. When I drove around in the Forza demo I got the same bored feeling that I got from the previous editions. I don't think I could ever have as much fun with that as I do with Shift. And that's ulimately what matters most to me when playing a game. I may end up getting it and giving it a better shot, but my expectations wouldn't be very high.Comment

Agreed. These two games really aren't aimed at the same audience.
Forza has over 400 different cars and around 100 tracks. There's now way you could model every single car as much as they do in Shift it's just to much work to do that. Given the fact that there are 400 different cars though it is pretty impressive that they got them to look as good as they do.
I just think they're two different games. NFS is for more of a general audience while Forza is for people who really love cars and racing who don't need all the fancy bells and whistles.Comment

Forza is what it is, its depth probably isn't immediately accessible to lots of people, and it isn't designed to be flashy with exaggerated sense of speed or overly aggressive AI. That stuff is still fun, and Shift looks nice, but they're different games focused on different things.Last edited by bkfount; 09-27-2009, 08:18 PM.Comment

Re: Forza 3 way worse than NFS shift???
ya i get it, but what is forza trying to emulate....i mean its not an exaggerated sense of speed, i feel like im going fast on nfs shift, and like i said, forza is a smooth, easy, somewhat boring ride....forza doesn't make me feel like im racing, more like im taking a leasurly drive through the country...its not a bad game at all, i'm just saying, that while so many cars and tracks are nice, it doesn't really make it as playable for a long time, as shift might, b/c the gameplay seems to somewhat lull me to sleep. now i mean this is not to say if someone said, here's forza 3 for 10 bucks, i'd say, nahh im not interested in that game...i will definately give it a try, and maybe it'll work, maybe it won't.Comment

if you don't like it then you don't like it, nothing wrong with that.

Re: Forza 3 way worse than NFS shift???
Well while you feel that Forza doesn't feel real, it's certainly been crafted for more realistic physics and handling than Shift was. Shift is more of a racing game for gamers who just want an exciting, "sim enough", wild ride around the track. Games like Forza and Gran Turismo are built to satisfy their core fans first and the racing gameplay has to reflect that.Comment

I think what set Forza apart is the pull in factor. Every car drives different. Once you learn your car and a particular track; there is nothing like zoning out on the track and driving perfect laps or almost perfect laps to win the races. This is especially true when you have an underrated car. What world do you live in?Comment
