I've made the game resolution smaller and turned all the graphics options down, but I still can't get them up. Is there anything else I can do?

If you are running the CUP10s mod, you are going to get lower fps. The models are designed at 2048, and can really cause fps issues. I am posting a link to Sim Racing Design. The 3rd sticky down has a full breakdown of tweaks to help with higher fps.........

Thanks for the link. Sadly, those tweaks make my game crash right at the Papyrus intro screen.

What are your system specs? It seems like ur PC cant run the game at all. Try all lowest settings and just the default Cup series.

I get anywhere from 20-40 FPS with the default cars...I'm running it on a laptop with a crappy graphics card so I know I'm never going to get anything spectacular, I'd just like to figure out a way to get the game to be playable with the COT cars so I can race online with everyone.

Like I said then download the lower res mod. Those graphics tweaks are for those that have high end systems and want to max out their visuals. This game came out in 2003 obviously but if ur laptop sucks then ur just SOL. Besides if ur using a laptop I assume u dont have a wheel and if u plan on using a keyboard to race u might as well not bother.

That's what I figured...no need to be rude about it.

Well, Bob and I downloaded the Bullring Mod 2011 and I highly recommend it. The FPS are great, the cockpit is really well done and the cars handle very well.

Not sure about the AI but this looks to be a great "all human race" mod. Kuddos to Bob for convincing me to try it.

Is there any way to get my game to work again? All I did was change the things that site told me to.

Just start from scratch... Delete the entire C:\Papyrus directory and re-install. That's what I would suggest.

I wasnt being rude about it just stating facts. I asked u twice what ur setup was and u never gave a str8 reply. I cant help u if u dont answer my questions. If u plan to race online then dont use a keyboard I am sorry ull just wreck half the field every race.

I highly doubt that, and I don't see how providing how many FPS I got was not a "str8 reply". Anyway, my specs are:

                            Processor: Intel Core2 Duo CPU T5270 @ 1.40 GHz
                            RAM: 2 GB

                            Total Virtual Memory: 4.21 GB
                            Available Virtual Memory: 2.07 GB

No, sir. That lappy lacks the GPU (3d graphics card) punch. Sorry.

Because the FPS you get can be affected by many different things. I could probably make my computer get 20-40 FPS on the settings you were running, and it blows your computer out of the water. FPS, without specs, is more or less useless when you're trying to help someone figure out why the game is running slow.
