How to fix Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Dale Jr. has won 18 Cup series points races, he dominated the series from 00-04 winning 15 races (6 in 04), While only winning 3 from 05- present. I know a simple way to fix the struggles that Dale Jr. has had the past few years. He needs Tony Eury Sr back as his Crew Chief here are the stats that prove the point.

Wins with Tony Sr: 15 (Texas '00 - Phoenix '04)
    Wins without: 3
    Steve Hmiel: (Chicago '05)
Tony Jr (Richmond '06, Michigan '08)
    Lance McGrew 0

Obviously he needs to go the Denny Hamlin route and tear his ACL and then have surgery, duh

Frankly I don't think the reason he cant win is because of the Crew Chief.
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

The numbers seem to say otherwise

To be honest I just don't believe Dale Jr.'s heart is in it. That + being the #4 team in a race shop doesn't help.

I agree with beatnik, I don't think he wants it anymore.

He needs to want it, for all the fans that are sprnding their hard earned money week after week going to the track pulling for him and buying his merchandise. If he learned nothing from his dad he should have learned that. He said many times he went out there and gave 100% every lap for the person in the stands or watching on tv wearing that #3 hat or shirt because he knew what it was like to have to work hard and save your money up to go out and buy those tickets . But then again he never had to work hard like his dad did growing up.

In a nutshell? He just ain't that good. He's got the best supporter that money can buy(Hendricks) same as Johnson,Gordon,etc... he got rid of Tony E, & he STILL sucks...the problem WASN'T Tony jr...it was the driver. Well, that & the competition is pretty damn stiff right now, he's not even CLOSE to the elite.

You don't win 2 consecutive busch championships 18 cup wiins a Dayton 500 an all star race your rookie year and countless Daytona qualifying races or bud shootouts by being not that good. You don't luck into those kind of stats

Earnhardt, Jr. was raised to be appreciative and forthcoming with his efforts and he has been. Unfortunately people put him in bad situations. He owes fans absolutely nothing on the race track. More than likely 80% of them pretty much came from his father's fan base, that is nearly indisputable. He has also been NASCAR's beacon boy by doing every appearance possible and I believe that is what has taken it's toll on him.

It is just time for Jr. to make racing fun again and get the heck out of Hendrick. He should go somewhere that he can just race and be himself, not the sock puppet of an entire Sports Association.

I agree with that. I never was big on the move to Hendrick to begin with.

First off my daddy was a Darrell Waltrip fan his whole career. So growing up i couldnt stand Dale. Wrecking Darrell and causing him many wins. But Dale dieing hurt really bad. And i naturally pulled for Jr. And a diehard Jr fan at that. Up untill his 2nd season in the 88. Then came Kyle Busch. He was Dale and Darrell in one. He does crazy moves in a racecar that no one else will do, and he is cocky as hell. And knows hes good. So bam thats who i pull for now. In only five years has won 18 Winston cup races. And over 50 nascar races in all. Kid is gonna be great.

And sorry i have no idea about Jr any more. It sucks to watch him run well then finish 32nd almost every week.

As much as i hate to say it, but Kyle Busch is the best out there right now.

                          Jimmie Johnson > Kyle Bush.

When Bush follows his brother's route and learns how to think big picture he will become the best, but until then he's not even better than his big bro.

I've said it before....Dale Jr. is a lot like Kyle Petty

he's got the name, showed promise early in his career, then became a regular backmarker
