I guess that bodes well for me when I pick up a wheel when GT 5 drops in November.

Forza is a good game but GT is a better game.

And this wheel is pretty well respected too. I wasn't aware it worked with the 360.

I think wheels are overrated. If I had my choice between an over the top wheel and the ability to improve the realism of the driving experience with many screens. I would choose the latter. The screens have a much more stronger effect in terms of the driving experience compared to the wheel. The 360 wheel is not perfect but in my opinion it does the job well.

I don't follow because with a decent racing wheel the player can feel under/over steer and react accordingly which is all based on physics. Especially with 900 degree wheels and pedals which enables the user to input actions to better detail than a controller ever would. Not to mention with g25/27 and fanatic wheels you can also enable the clutch use which also improves overall realism of sim racing.

Care to elaborate your thoughts on how multi-screens have a stronger effect vs. wheel?

I raced competitively for quite some time on the PC from Grand Prix Legends to Nascar Heat to Porsche unleashed to Race of champions to Nascar Racing 2003. All against friends and others who I know used TSW wheels while I used a simple MS sidewinder wheel and bested them several times. In my opinion your view of of the track and your opponents is much more important than the wheel, especially since I always use the in the car view.

If you use the in the car cam all the time and not "wuss" out and use those out of car cams or even the hood cam then finding the right view (FOV) in the options menus was the biggest issue for me. You don't want to be too far out and not be close enough to get a feel for up close bumper racing yet not be too close to where you can not get a good ideal overall view of everything around you.

              1. With the proper view from in the car cam it greatly helps you to judge who is next to you in the turn clearly.

              2. Who far can I pinch down on an opponent in a turn.

              3. How close can I get with out nudging my opponent too hard when I am behind them.

              4. How close is my opponent really to my side door.

All this without having to press a digital button to look. With 3 screens this is done with a quick glance instinctively without the game moving the whole camera to one side losing my peripheral vision.

There is plenty more that makes having the 3 screen view the best way to race. More so than having a "so called better wheel". Because I am more informed of my position to where I am on the track to my competitors it allows me to drive more aware and not essentially blind most of the time when you are not allowed to make a quick glance left or right which is instinctively normal when we drive outside.

              EDIT - Additional thoughts -

Of course if you have never had the pleasure of actually having 3 screens at use before it is impossible to argue against if you have never used it.

A while back Sega had a sim racer in the arcades called F355 Challenge. In that game you had a booth that gave you 3 screens. It was a bit different since no game at all had this innovation as of yet that I had known of. I played that game quite frequently despite its ridiculous price at the arcade. As I grew accustomed to it I found the 3 screens quite useful and it improved my close quarters driving as a whole in tight areas with several cars around me.

If you are an in the car cam user (cockpit). Then 3 screens to 1 screen in my opinion helps significantly over a slightly better wheel.

I remember that game if it's the same one I'm thinking of. It was enclosed right? Only played it a couple times and sucked pretty bad at it. Price was up there though.

I understand the advantage of having multi-screen over single. I also have used multi-screen in the past.

I just re-read your original post and realized that what you meant was you rather have a normal wheel + multi-screen rather than top tier wheel + single screen. (at least I hope that is what you meant, because this I can agree with)

At first read I thought what you meant was that if you had the choice between using multi-screen or wheel, you would rather have multi-screen set up and play with a pad.
