Forza 3, Dirt 2, NFS Shift, or Project Gotham Racing 4?

    Hey all,

I'm new to the XBox 360 scene (just picked up the 360 S today and I love it), and I'm looking for a great racing game. I have it narrowed down to Forza 3, Dirt 2, NFS Shift, or Project Gotham Racing 4.

I think that which ever game I decide to get will determine whether or not I want to get the racing wheel as well. If I grab Forza 3 or Dirt 2, I think I'd want the wheel for those, but not so much for NFS Shift or Project Gotham Racing 4, especially with PGR 4 because of the bikes).

I also know that Forza 3 is the purest sim of the bunch, and PGR 4 and NFS fall into the arcade area. To me it looks like Dirt is a fun balance of both.

Grrr... too many decisions. I only have time for one racing game right now, so which should it be and why? And please ask if you need more info.

    Thanks!

Forza 3 and Dirt 2 are both awesome. Hard to choose between the two. Probably would go with Forza though.

I actually enjoyed NFS Shift more than Forza. I'm in the minority though. Dirt 2 and Shift are my favorite out of the ones you mentioned. If you want more cars and a good experience then Forza is probably the way to go (I just dislike their A.I. they always seemed like they weren't really racing each other unlike the A.i. in Shift). PGR 4 is the one I'd be least likely to recommend. Dirt is the best looking out of all of them but only good if you like rally racing.

I'd say Shift or Dirt 2.

Put me in the minority as well

NFS Shift or Dirt 2 (depending on which type of racing most appeals to you) are far and away better on-track experiences than Froza 3. Forza 3 offers a lot of toys to play with when you are off the track but the problem is; Turn10 took a great, but very dry, physics engine and stuffed it into a stale arcade formula. Where the rubber meets the road Forza 3 is Borza 3. PGR4 is actually a fun game. It has a nice blend of sim-cade physics and great graphics. Its a bit long in tooth at this point (3 year old engine is it?) but plenty to achieve even for single player. If you like power sliding around 90 degree plagued, yet beautiful cityscapes then don't overlook PGR4. It can be had for a steal.
