Re: F1 2010 Impressions (PS3, 360, PC)
I really wish I could ignore the problems in this game, but I just can't.
I'm not a hardcore F1 fan, but whenever I buy a sports-related game, I want a realistic simulation that will last me a long, long time. Sadly this has not hit the nail on the head. Not even close.
Has anyone returned their game? What's the protocol? Can you just take it back because it's rubbish, or will it depend on retailed?
I got mine from JB Hi Fi in Australia and still obviously have the receipt. Game in as-new condition. Will they exchange it for the same value I bought it?Comment

Re: F1 2010 Impressions (PS3, 360, PC)
What are the thoughts of the community re: the racing line of the CPU? I mean, I was following Alonso (I was second) and the lines he was taking to get in to corners simply made no sense at all. He was not under pressure, the track was dry and the CPU was all over the shop. Anyone noticing this?My teams: Leeds United, Central Coast Mariners, Denver Broncos, Florida Gators, Florida Marlins, Miami Heat, Brisbane Broncos.
My screen-name is a combination of my favourite college football player in Tim Tebow and my favourite ever Bronco, Terrell Davis (30).Comment

Re: F1 2010 Impressions (PS3, 360, PC)
Is it just me or do some of these tracks take damn near house to complete. And I'm definitely talking about the ones in Career mode.
Codemasters makes you go all out, with the qualifying laps, down to the actual races...I mean damn! I love it though
Having so much fun with this....my friend let me have my PC versions of Dead Rising 2 and NBA 2k11 early from his store...I might be playing them in a few hours....so F1 2010 might get a slight break....
Overall I love this game.Comment

Re: F1 2010 Impressions (PS3, 360, PC)
A follow up on this post. I turned off autosave and did R&D. After manually saving and reloading the game, my save file was corrupt (created a backup in case - the files are located in your Documents\My Games\FormulaOne. So it looks like no R&D for me throughout the career until a patch is out.Last edited by Kully; 09-27-2010, 02:58 PM.Comment

I'd love to go to the Codemasters forum, but I've been there once and it's terrible. Shame.Comment

Re: F1 2010 Impressions (PS3, 360, PC)
Guys-based on this thread and the myriad of complaints I've read here I have yet to open my game since Friday (360 version) debating whether to take it back for a full refund until a patch comes. For those who have played the 360 version do you guys recommend I return it and wait on a patch before repurchasing or just live with the bugs till the fix comes?EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: F1 2010 Impressions (PS3, 360, PC)
Ninjak2,
Despite the bugs I am having a great time with the game and Codemasters have already stated that a patch is coming. Go ahead and open the game. Just do the following to avoid some of the major bugs:
-go directly to qualifying after practice to avoid the corrupt save (do not exit to paddock).
-change your pit strategy or pit late/early to avoid the pit bug.
-turn fuel simulation off (avoid different simulation of fuel load during race that makes AI much faster than you).
The only major inconvenience for me is the fuel simulation. I really want to play with that on but simply cannot. Otherwise I can easily deal with the work around until the patch comes.Comment

Re: F1 2010 Impressions (PS3, 360, PC)
Same here, online is pretty fun. I'm enjoying the game and CM is working on a patch, I'll probably wait to do my season when they patch it.
Not saying there aren't any bugs, but at least I can just run it and play online without issue.Comment

Hey, there! In the meantime, I've been doing a bunch of Time Trials to see where I stack up against the rest of the crowd. Hit me up with a friend request so that I can load up your ghost!"The older I get, the faster I was!"

For those of you that have the PC version, here is a fix for the yellowish tint. Just download and extract to your F1 root folder, then you can enable or disable it by hitting Shift+F12
