Have 2 careers going on at the moment (I just copy and paste the savegame whenever I want to play a different career). In both careers I'm doing a normal 7 year stint, just starting season 2 with Sauber in my first. The car feels different, and I like the soothing sound of the engine; the Lotus I was driving before sounded like a dog yelping every time I maxed my revs.
My Lotus drive was decent, was able to get a few points, but was still unable to move Lotus from near the bottom. Sauber offered me a contract to be their #2 and I accepted. Like the car at the moment, constantly qualifying in the top 12.
My second career I wanted to follow Alonso's path in F1 so I cheated. I used the same Lotus at the beginning but earned enough rep points to get into a Renault for the second season (you need 29 rep points for Renault to offer a contract, so I edited the database to get more reputation points faster). Planning on sticking with Renault until my fifth year, which then I hop over to McLaren.
After playing countless laps of the game, I can honestly say I'm having fun with the game despite the issues I come across. Not having split times bothers me, constant punctures (I work around this by using flashbacks), and the AI not pitting in shorter races is annoying. I've coped so far and the game has grown on me.
One nasty bug I get a lot is when racing around tight tracks like Monte Carlo and Singapore. Sometimes there's an invisible wall that blocks you: Monaco has one at Massenet, where you car sinks into the ground and them shoots up at high speed flinging you into the air.
Love some of these F1 tracks too. Love racing around Montreal, Monza, Singapore, Korea, and Sao Paulo
