    f1 2010 career mode question

I have played two races so far at full length, finished at the back both times (22nd and 19th). What is odd is when ever the race leader finishes the race a timer comes up on how much time I have left to finish the race. At the half way point of the timer, the race winner changes.

When I get to the screen where they show all the times, the person who won (Hamilton in the 1st race, Webber in 2nd) was bumped to second and everyone was a extra lap down. Including myself, now 2 laps down even though Webber only passed me once in the last race.

Is this a glitch or something?

The only two things I can think of at this point are:

    1. There are time penalties for mistakes made throughout the race, that are not applied until the race is over.

    2. In most European race genre's, they only count the laps that are finished, not the lap that you are on. So basically it always looks like your a lap behind.

For instance, in NASCAR, if they are on the last lap, in the bottom of the screen, it would say lap 275 of 275. This is not the case in most European circuits, as it would say lap 274 of 275.

Hopefully this makes sense, if not, sorry brother.

I was thinking it was penalties, just though it was strange that it happened in back to back races.
