Yeah, I had the HKS controller preordered on Amazon but I just cancelled it. They had a December release date and I hearing so many conflicting dates and it is constantly getting pushed back. From the posts I'm reading here, it should be out next week. Whoever gets it , please let us know and post a quickie review.

I really have high hopes for this controller. I prefer to play my PS3 games from the comfort of an easy chair and not a rigid race setup (like my PC games). If this controller turns out to be a must get, then with F1 2010, Nascar 2011 and GT5, my racing horizon is set!

I cancelled my order from GS last night. It originally had 11/24 release date but, when I woke up this morning to see the status it had a release date of 12/6.

So, I'm on the fence about getting a wheel. I really don't want to but, I feel like I'm being restricted by using a regular controller.

If anyone has any other info keep us updated.

That looks like a better option than the wheel. I may just wait till this comes out before i get gt5. I just don't think I'll have as much fun with a regular controller.

All I have to say is, people who doubt whether they should get a wheel, Amazon has the GT for $99.99 right now.

Trust me when I say it will change the way you play racing games, especially sim games, when you use a wheel. Every car feels different and gives different feedback. From the road vibrations to the torque, to the jerking of losing control. It is astonishing. Something that is so hard to describe, but if ever experienced, you would never use a control again for racing.

While i totally agree I'm having a hard time forking over the $ for a second wheel. Would love to get one for ps3 though.

Without a doubt, but my PS3 isn't setup for racing and I have no desire to do so. when my Logitech Momo craps out on my PC, I'll probably go the G25/G27 route. Gotta have the clutch and h-shifter.

Concerning the HKS racing controller, there is a review up on Amazon, so some guy out there has it. My guess is we'll start see it trickling in next week.

I don't know how reliable Game Stop is but they are now listing the HKS Controller for release on 12/6/10.

They had 11/24 as a release day, so I ordered one. Then I checked the status of my order because I paid for next day air, they changed the date to 12/6. So we'll see if it does come out. Someone on amazon has one and gave a review of it. Seems promising.

I've been saying the same thing as the majority of the people in this thread...
"i can't justify spending so much money on a wheel for one game"
....until I tried the Logitech GT. Holy crap!!!! It's amazing!! It truly, truly, TRULY, changes the game. In fact it doesn't feel like a game with a wheel. You're playing a game with the controller... It feels like a simulator with the wheel. For the people still debating about getting a wheel, keep this in mind.... GT5 was developed with a steering wheel, not a controller. If you can give up a few coffees, some morning muffins/donuts, and some fast food a few times a month, go do yourself a favor and buy the wheel. I didn't know it was $99 on Amazon. I spent $150 on mine and even at full retail price, the experience I get with the wheel in hand, it was worth it.

And IMO, that HKS controller looks super cool but it doesn't add anything to the experience. I find it amusing some people are forking over $50 for a gimmicky controller without a d-pad (what other games are you going to use it for??). My advice for the people looking at the HKS controller; take that $50, add another $50 and buy the Logitech GT. I guarantee you won't regret it.

It's designed as a racing game controller... so that would be it's only use. You bought a racing wheel? What else are you going to use it for other than racing games? That argument made ZERO sense. Also... it has a dpad... where the right stick used to be.

And again? What other games would we use it for? What other games would you use a wheel for? It's designed for racing games...

Ya know... I was going to say the same thing. The racing wheel and racing controller are for the same type of games. You wouldn't buy and wheel to play COD or Halo would you? The same is said for the controller.

What he said makes no sense what so ever.
