help on SLow in Fast out

    Hi Guys,

I am new to GT as this is my first time buying GT . I was wondering the slow in fast out technique , when do you guys hit the breaks and do you just tap it or hold on to the breaks long time when getting to the APEX . When reaching the APEX , when do you start accelerating ?

I know it depends on the turn but i always see the red line before the turn , do you guys break before you get to the red line or as soon as you get there ?

It really depends on the turn and the car man. For instance, when playing FM3 and driving the Porsche race car you want to do as little trail braking as possible, with GT5 there is a license test where your driving I think a Puegot or some other tiny car on Tsukba (sp) and in order to get gold you have to trail brake your behind off to get it.

I think your best bet is to try to learn different braking techniques with different cars in a practice mode or something and then try to use what you think will work best for the task at hand.

You hit the brakes before entering the turn, which means that you'll be braking at any point up until but not including the apex. When you are at the apex, that's when you should be accelerating. There are some turns that require shorter braking periods, where you can already be coasting or accelerating BEFORE hitting the apex.

The whole point of the "fast out" half means that you'll have a higher speed coming out of that corner. Therefore you get to the next corner in less time. So don't brake after the apex!

So in the case for GT, hit the brakes as you are on top of the red line.

I think he means hit the breaks when your car is actually ON the red line. I wouldn't suggest that though. You can do that against the CPU racers but not against human competition. If you do that online, you'll cause EVERYONE behind you to go crashing into your backside.
