indycar series 2005

i know its an original xbox game. i am an indycar nut and its the only indycar game for xbox i could find and i just got it off of glyde. anybody play it? any thoughts on it? just curious if someone else out there is playing it and what they think

I still play it periodically to this day. Like you, I’m into IndyCar and it fills the void rather nicely given there’s no current-gen IndyCar title out there.

It’s actually pretty sim too. You have to set your cars up for the track to be competitive, especially if playing on the hardest AI difficulty. No rubber banding, good AI. Still worthy to be played, IMO.

I still have it but haven't played in a while. Awesome game though, I had some of my most memorable moments racing online with it. Nothing like a 3 car draft on the last lap and then going 3 wide coming out of the last turn trying to pull off the win.

Can you still play this online?

Unfortunately you can't play any original Xbox game online any more, they have shut them all down. At least on Xbox live any way. Before Live was around I use to play Xbox games online using a program called Xbox connect through the PC. That was at least 9 years ago, don't know if it's still around. Any game that had system link would work.

does anyone know what the track list is for this game? and is there a season mode and if so is it able to go over multiple seasons?

It has the tracks from the 2003 season, which are all ovals. There is a season mode (called Indycar Series mode).

I have that game on both the PS2 and (original) Xbox.
It is a good game, haven't played it in a couple two or three years though.
