We are constantly looking through the forums and trying to answer each and every question. However, we are noticing a few duplicated questions and have decided to pull together an FAQ. This will be updated regular and we will pick out and answer the key questions that you guys are asking.
Updated: 03rd February 2011:
PRE RELEASE
Q. Will there be a Demo?
A. None has being planned for the 2011 game.
GAME PLAY
Q. Will the AI be realistic in the way of fuel consumption and tire wear?
A. Yes, the A.I. operate under exactly the same conditions as the player.
Q. Is there a live running order?
A. The game will feature a live ticker during the race which updates with the current running order.
Q. Live Points Updates when getting close to the chase if a driver is in or out?
A. The ticker does change to indicate if the driver would be in the Chase if they finished in their current position.
Q. Will there be transitions from day to night, and if so how will going from day to night during a race impact a cars performance, if at all?
A. Unfortunately there is NO transition from day to night. There are day, night, and dusk races.
However, we may look to do this in future versions of the game.
Q. Will the track rubber up over time?
A. Yes, the track will 'rubber' up as the race progresses.
Q. Will there be racing grooves?
A. Yes, Multiple racing grooves.
Q. Will cars go on fire? Or will smoke billow out if a car blows an engine or tire?
A. Cars will not burst in to flames, this is a licensor restriction. However, if you blow a tire, smoke and sparks can be seen.
Q. Will cars suffer Engine Blow outs?
A. No, unfortunately due to licensor restriction, that will not be the case. We are adjusting the amount of damage repaired per entry into pit lane to compensate this.
Q. Will we have the option for cars to DNF?
A. No sorry we can't include this due to the licensor restriction, and/or bug issues.
(This is a top priority and on the list for 2012)
Q. With no DNF's what's stopping anyone from winning after a 360 degree barrel roll?
A. The comprimise we are including (at your request), will ensure that those situations and drivers that would normaly result in a DNF, will instead find themselves far behind the race leaders as they will require multiple visits to pit lane to repair the damage.
Q. I have heard the damage physics are 'one of the best' to date in a NASCAR game. Can you give an example of what to expect please?
A. Sure! Hit the wall hard enough, and you will blow a tire.
Tires will blow out shredding the sheet metal and littering the track with debris.
Q. When using a manual transmission setting will you be able to "kill" gears if you mess up a shift?
A. You cannot kill the gearbox by mis-shifting.
Q. When you get hit on the front wheels will it affect the Camber/Caster/Toe settings and make the car handle differently?
A. Yes, damage to the wheels will affect the cars handling.
Q. Are all 43 pit crews going to be active at once on pit road? like let’s say everyone comes down, will you see every pit crew at work?
A. All the cars can pit but the player will only see their pit crew.
Q. Will there be windshield build-up?
A. Yes, during the race build-up will occur.
Q. Do you have full control of the car under yellow flags and down the pit road?
A. Under yellow, you do NOT control the car in to the pit road, only under green.
Q. Will the AI cars be involved in realistic wrecks too?
A. Yes, the A.I. do get involved in wrecks.
Q. In the Career Mode can the player create their own team?
A. Yes they can.
Q. Will there be "FULL" race weekends. As in 2 or 3 Practise Sessions to test Qualifying and race trim.
A. Right now we just have qualifying and the race. Our aim is to make the game as accessible as possible to all and we felt a full race weekend could be quite daunting for the less hard core players.
Online, in a private race the host can set a Qualifying order based on:
Random, completely random order
Skill, the online skill rating
Personal Best Time, the players PB for that track
Fastest Lap, the players are order based on their fastest laps from the last online race
We will look at improving this for 2012 version.
Q. Is this game A Sim or Arcade?
A. It is based upon simulation, however we have certain assists which the player can utilise to help them create a handling feel that works for them. Thus allowing many inexperienced players the chance to race NASCAR
Q. Will the catch fences at the tracks also have realistic physics?
A. The catch fence and safety barrier have physical properties, and will move when the car hits them.
Q. For the damage, if you’re on pit road, will there be tape, tools, etc. and the pit crew actually trying to fix the car?
A. The pit crew make handling adjustments to the car but will not be seen to repair the damage.
Q. Can you run out of fuel?
A. Yes, If you run out of fuel on the track, then it's Race over. If you're entering the pit lane and make it over the commitment line then you will pit as normal.
ONLINE:
Q. Will there be a spectator mode?
A. Unfortunately this wont feature in NASCAR The Game 2011 but we are looking into the possibility for future versions.
Q. Will there be lobby's to set up races and will you be able to invite you're online friends?
A. Yes.
Q. Will there be a league management feature?
A. No, but we may visit this for future versions if enough people want it.
Q. Will there be online split-screen? What modes will feature split-screen?
A. There is split screen but you cannot race. This is an offline mode only.
Q. Server issues have blighted previous versions of the game, what will Eutechnyx be doing to ensure a good online experience?
A. We will be using first party servers i.e. Xbox Live and PSN so we don’t envisage any problems.
CUSTOMISATION:
Q. Can you upload your own images or do you have to use the in game paint booth?
A. We have built a fantastic in game tool for users to design their cars. This will give users complete control over the look of their car and as such must use this feature.
Q. Will there be a setup trading feature in-game or will it be the old school 'type your setups out on the forums, and then have to enter them manually' way of doing it?
A. There aren’t any trading features.
Q. Will we be able to make Custom logos?
A. Yes. You can create any thing you want using shapes and other stuff.
Some pre made sposors will be included. We are not saying what they are

Numbers will have a certain font.
You can use double digit numbers.
COMMENTARY:
Q. Is there anyone like Dale Jarrett or anyone doing commentary?
A. Both Doug Rice and Mark Garrow from PRN perform the race introductions.
Q. Who does the voice for the ingame "spotter"?
A. Ty Norris (Was a spotter for Dale Jr and now works with MWR)
GENERAL:
Q. Can we please have Trucks and Nationwide cars in future releases of the game?
A. Possibly. We are definitely looking into it if the demand is there.
Q. What will celebrations involve?
A. The player can perform burn outs in the car and then the driver will be seen to perform certain actions when they climb out of the vehicle.
Q. What kind of cameras will there be in the game. Mainly in the replays...in the old NASCAR games the replay cameras weren’t good...is this game going to have TV type cameras in replay modes?
A. The cameras are based on those used for the broadcast with a couple of special ones thrown in for good measure.
Q. Why was the game delayed?
A. Although we believe this game is great, we wished to take the time to add a couple of small things, amend "damage", and sort a couple of minor bugs. We feel you, the gamer, will fully understand and appreciate the extra effort.
GAME SUPPORT
Q. Will the game be 2010 season or 2011?
A. The game will be released with 2010 season. We will release a patch for the 2011 season, and include changes made to the cars/ rules, and "COT" (confirm patch or DLC)
