Surprise suprise they hit another problem Has to do with lag when playing online. Eutechnyx is working all night to get it fixed and sent back to Activison in the morning and maybe this patch will finally be sent to microsoft by the end of the week.

Wow...this is crazy. Listen, this is no indictment on Dave or Eutechnyx, as this has to be as frustrating for them, as it is for us. I just hope there are enough people still around to care about the patch, once it's finally released.

a racing game with online lag...........stop the presses.

I say put it out and release a second fix for online.

Time to get this show on the road. It would be nice to have the 2011 update prior to the halfway point in the season.

Wow...this is crazy. Listen, this is no indictment on Dave or Eutechnyx, as this has to be as frustrating for them, as it is for us. I just hope there are enough people still around to care about the patch, once it's finally released.

I will dust it off when time comes. In the mean time, I have other games to play so I am not too stressed over the news.

This would be the games second patch. I'm wondering if that is all Activision is giving Eutechnyx. The smart thing would have been to split the patches up.

Same here, as I am racing the hell out of iRacing right now. I still play NASCAR11 a lot though, but once again, only offline, and only 15-20 lap sprints. I hardly ever run into the many issues the game has, by doing it this way.

I'm trying to stay patient, and I'm hoping the wait will be rewarded. But this company has no doubt taken a hit so (IMO) this patch will have their future credibility riding on it...

As a strictly offline player, I'm disappointed it's taking so long. But again, I hope it will be worth the wait.

Makes two of us. I hate to say it but I definitely won't be buying any of their games until after the reviews pour in. They definitely looked like rookies on this one.

This is freaking comical at this point. I just have no words anymore to properly convey how ludicrous I think this is. Almost 3 months since release and they're still discovering stuff that's broken. I have absolutely no idea why they didn't roll out what they had a month ago, and then work on these "new" ones.

It's like The Three Stooges have a development firm.

Update on Patch #2 06/22/11

As most of you are aware, today we were running a final transatlantic online test between Eutechnyx and Activision. During this test we identified one or two issues with the online multiplayer which we are now going to work throughout the night to fix so that we can send Activision an updated build first thing tomorrow morning. We're hoping that this will allow Activision to submit the Xbox 360 patch either Tomorrow or Friday.

They should have spent less time doing interviews about how great their game is and more time working on the game. It is clearly obvious they hyped the game to no end over additions that do not work. I refuse to play the game as I am not going to risk burning up my racing wheel. The controller is not fun for me and neither is the game in it's current state.

That's the exact same boat I'm in. My wheel starts with the grinding after a couple of laps and I have to unplug it and plug it back in to reset the FF. The controller just doesn't have the same level of control for me, so I bought a game 3 months ago that I haven't been able to play yet, which is infuriating.

Not to mention, even if I COULD use the controller, a NASCAR race without a pit stop isn't really a NASCAR race IMO, so it's just a shell of a game. It's quite frankly the worst release I can ever recall--even worse than Football Pro '99 that actually got recalled by Sierra on PC.

I'm a bigger sucker because I would have traded it in almost immediately for the biggest credit I could, but I keep waiting for this bloody patch that never seems to come. If they manage to make it actually playable, the driving could be second to none on consoles when compared to other NASCAR games, which is what pisses me off the worst. So I still haven't traded it in in the hopes that this patch actually DOES fix it.

Guess I'll have to stick with NASCAR 09, or even NASCAR Thunder 2002.

I was REEEEEEALLY hoping for a new NASCAR game. Oh well.

According to their forums, davet tweeted that they've now fixed the online issue and it's back to Activision for another round. Given that it usually takes 2-3 days for them to test, I'm thinking the next update will be middle of next week.
