Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions
But if you want to actually include pit stops or any race length longer than a dozen laps, it's absolutely atrocious. I've been waiting for that patch to hit since release day like everybody else, and I'm fed up. It's garbage in its current state, but I DO applaud the dev team for being so open in their lines of communication.Comment

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions
Here's the strangest example:
At Martinsville, cars in pit road were TURNING AROUND in pit road and exiting out the wrong way. Then turning straight through the barrels and into the track in T3, creating a comical pile up as other cars on track plowed into them.
But at most tracks, the AI are absolutely horrid at getting on and off pit road--going the wrong way, killing each other as they jump from the outside lane down into the pit lane in heavy traffic, etc.
Or the fact that a lot of people claim that the pit stops for the player occur in "slow mo" while the other cars all fly by at normal speed, so they lose 10 seconds per stop. I haven't personally seen that or really think it's true, as I managed some stops right along with other cars, but I don't really ignore anything people report with this game anymore.
Bottom line, the AI behavior is downright fruity at most tracks. You may get 1 or 2 pit stops without a yellow flying due to the AI cars doing idiotic things, but you'll get another 10 or 12 completely hosed.Comment

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions
Well this makes sense because it is impossible to speed exiting so the pass through rule wouldn't be applicable but if you speed entering they can apply the rule...but when you really think about it they will more than likely add in the NASCAR officials and hold you in the pits next year's release. But the pass-thru is by far the biggest punishment in the game because you lose sooooo much time.PSN: TBD

Give the License to Codemasters, please!
This is ridiculous. 3 months for a freakin' patch? NASCAR -- please do us all a favor and license the rights to make this game to Codemasters next year. It's becoming obvious that Eutechnyx doesn't have the resources to support this game.Comment

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions
I'm afraid I have to agree. I've been a big supporter of the devs because of the way they've kept us informed, but this is just getting stupid now. I've been able to keep playing the game, like others, just doing short races without pitstops. Doing this the game is FAR from unplayable and really good fun sometimes, but we are missing out on a HUGE part of NASCAR and even my patience is wearing thin.
I think the mistake the devs have made is to keep giving provisional dates for the patch/dlc and then saying "soon" when those dates pass. It's all very damaging for the 2012, which I would think should be pushed way back into next year. Maybe even skip a year and get it right.Comment

I am starting to think at this point they have worked so long on the patch that they must be way behind on the development of next years games. So I wouldn't be shocked if they just skipped next years game.Texas A&M Aggies

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions
I'm only speculating, but you have to assume there are provisions in the licensing arrangement that allow NASCAR to get out of this current arrangement with Activision / Eutechnyx (with respect to future games) so at this point, I would not be surprised for there not to be a NASCAR 2012, at least not from this group. Given Codemasters' experience with Dirt, Grid and F1, I think they would be the most logical choice for a future release assuming Codemasters felt that a NASCAR game would be a profitable venture. I have heard that Grid 2 is due out in 2012 and there is supposed to be F1 2011 in September of this year so they already have a lot to work on -- not sure if it's something they would want to handle.Comment

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions
This is real garbage, I've been coming to this website and racing sub forum since about late april, hoping maybe there was a patch that came out.
This is just brutal. I expect this update to never surface, or be released right around the time the "Chase for the Cup" starts.
I understand the whole PSN thing where it was delayed, but this is ridiculous.Comment
