Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions
I must say, my friend, brother and I are really excited for this game tomorrow. After reading through the 19 or so pages of the impressions page, I'm even more excited to play this tomorrow. I haven't played a racing game sicne NASCAR 09.
Blue, Senor and a few others, thanks for the impressions.Comment

Well there are a ton of options in regards to this. You can run standard tire wear & Fuel or X2 or X3 or X4. I still haven't found the perfect settings yet. I really think each track may require a different one depending on race length. Now in regards to race length you can choose from 1 lap to full race in RACE NOW. In career mode, it goes up by percentage with 2 or 3 % being the lowest then it goes up in 10%'s...if that makes sense.
I have been running anywhere between 20-30 percent which feels pretty good so far.
At 20% race length, how long does a race typically take you to complete?
And what tire/fuel wear are you using (standard or one of the accellerated) and how is that doing for need for pit stops?
Unless I am missing something (or my math is off), it would seem that if you were running 20% and did x4 tire wear, that would nearly equate to a normal race because you are running about 1/4 of the race (actually 1/5), but your tires and fuel is running out 4 times faster. So, at Daytona, if they typically run 50 laps on fuel/tire run, I assume that a 4x wear would mean that the fuel/tire run would be 12.5 laps. If you ran a 20% race (which would be 40 laps for the 500), you would have 3-4 stops. Is that how it is supposed to work? And does it?Comment

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions
I started out using the GT5 Driving Force wheel I bought for GT5, and if you ever played GTR2(on the PC), thats how tight and responsive the wheel is. It's FF is good, but I love the tightness and responsiveness of it.
Last night and today, I have raced with nothing but the controller. I love how you feel so connected with the track, and how closely dialed-in you are, when it comes to feathering the gas and brake. You can truly steer your car around the turns with your gas and brake, as it should be.
It really is a win-win either way...IMOLast edited by bluengold34_OS; 03-28-2011, 02:42 PM.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment
