I think Amazon is still offering a $25 credit if you purchase there. Granted, you're going to have to wait a few more days to receive the game but maybe that's a good thing.

There are no places around where I live that have the game for rental, so I'm REALLY tempted to just go and buy the game on my way home from work tonight. I know I shouldn't, but I feel that I'm starting to give into it... Somebody help! Convince me to wait! This is a really fun game while you are racing, but things start getting wacky when you come into pit. For now, I have turned off fuel loss, tire wear, and damage, which means I never have to pit. Not all that realistic, but it allows me to enjoy the racing... and the racing is really, really good.

Overall, I'm fairly satisfied with my purchase. I knew the game would be buggy, and considering this is the only NASCAR game that has been released for several years, I'm willing to cut the devs some slack. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody who wants to do some sort of multi-year career simulation thing, but it's nice for the casual fan who just wants to grind out a few laps for an hour or so every couple of days.

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions

Well, I think I am about done with this game until it gets patched up. Just ran the most absurd race at Martinsville. First of all, I somehow got 3 laps down yet I have no clue how because I was never lapped. Then I get knocked down toward pit entrance and I get the cutaway then it makes me go through the pits with a black flag for illegal entrance even though I never wanted to go into the pits. Then when I did want to pit, I was to hot entering so it just gives me the black flag and doesn't let me pit so I go back around and oops, to hot entering again. So of course it doesn't let me pit and by now I'm out of gas so my race ends. Completely ridiculous.

I VOTE FOR A RECALL! Worst $60 ever spent IMO. We all thought EA games were bad but at least they were playable.

It's pretty frustrating to not be able to finish a race because of the game freezing... :

Maybe he just expects the basics out of the game and enjoys watching Pirates baseball?

Hey, I'm a professional Pittsburgh sports fan, but every year I go into the season thinking "maybe this is the year!". I guess it's how Lions fans feel.

I just run out of gas while entering pit road and I got a nice arcade GAME OVER when I could have clearly coasted in the pits. It just said you finish 43rd while I was still moving. Really? Why does running out of fuel automatically mean game over? I guess it would have been to hard to throw a caution and show a tow truck pushing you to pit road and have your crew try to re-fire the car. At most you should only lose a couple laps. Such great expectations.

Agreed here you should at least have the opportunity to drift to your pit stall.

Seconded. At least in EA games you could coast in if need be. And NR2K3 did have tow trucks (though not seen) and you would just have to sit in the pits for a few miutes if you ran out of fuel.

I was just poking fun. But some of you people are a little too ridicoulous. Whining about a missing tow truck? As if you actually liked waiting out that 3 minute pit stop just to race down 4-5 laps?

Just curious if anyone has the same opinion, but I actually like NASCAR 09 for PS2 more than the PS3 version (I realize you give up some graphics quality) but I preferred the 2-player / split screen option, thought the cars were more controllable and like the addition of the NY City Fantasy Track.

I'm a huge NASCAR fan and will definitely be buying this game. I've read here and other places that the XBOX version has more bugs and problems than the PS3 version.

                                I do own both systems.

                                Two questions.

Is there a list of the differences in the versions and bugs so I can compare the 2 versions?

Also my only wheel is the official Xbox steering wheel so what version do you all recommend for me? Would the better option be to to buy the game for the Xbox with my wheel even though it's more buggy or get the PS3 version to use with the dual shock controller?

Thank you in advance and thank you for all the time and effort and knowledge that everyone here shares.

                                J.

I posted this a couple of days ago and never got an answer. I must have got lost in the shuffle. I'm going shopping this weekend and thought I'd ask again.

                                Thank you.
