Racing game help!

Hello guys!

So I managed to scrape together a few extra bucks and I figured I'd get a new game (What else is new).

Anyways, I was looking at Gamestop.com and saw Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (PS3) which I've wanted, and Shift 2 (PS3) for the same price.

I want a fun racing game (I already have Split Second) I mean I loved Shift but I got rid of it because, while it was a beautiful game, it was a bit strict on just racing. I don't know if Shift 2 is any different.

Im looking to not spend over $45 on it because money is a bit tight, 45 would even be pushing it. But from the recent games you played, what would you recommended as the most fun (and still has realistic attributes)?

Shift 2 is just racing again.

If you're looking for more than just racing out of those two, then Hot Pursuit is the only choice. I personally haven't played it because it's not "just racing", but different strokes and all...

Agree with Terry on this one. If you go any other route, you are really getting a racing "only" game. I have played NFS Hot Pursuit, and enjoyed it quite a bit for what it was. I prefer racing only games, but it held my interest, and received very good reviews.

Lol, I don't mind racing only, it's just I want the game to be fun. And if it's a fun 'racing only' game then I'll consider it.

I'd only get Hot Pursuit though cause I like the Cop chases, but is it worth it?

I personally would choose shift 2 over hot pursuit, Shift 2 after the patch is awesome! Every day I notice a cool little detail the developers included such as, last night I actually blew an engine.

The racing is extremely competitive and fun. I am having a great time with it!

Alright! That's the one I'll get next time. I actually got ModNation Racers today cause I couldn't find Shift 2 used, but I will definitely pick it up when I can. Thank you guys!
