Race Length in Nascar Thunder 2004? (n00b)
I'm a noob when it comes to Nascar. I've tried other versions in the past but I just suck at it. This looks like to be a good game this year and just need some help. I'm going to do 24 Races, Rookie, 5% Race Length, Quick Repair, Yellow off.
Any suggestions on changing anything? or any tips..Tags: None -

It is a good game this year, I gotta agree with that, I like the PC version a little more but not by much (bought the XBOX and PC).
If you have the console version I would suggest increasing the amount of races to 36. EA now uses the "EA Bio" which sees how much time you've played and unlocks more goodies the more you play. I like to race at 10% because I set the AI to veteran (XBOX), it gives me more time in the race. For being a noob your settings look fine, but I would recommend bumping the amount of races to 36 if you have the console version.
OT, I like the fantasy tracks (console versions) in Thunder 2004 and i'm not a fan of fantasy tracks in racing games. -

Re: Race Length in Nascar Thunder 2004? (n00b)
Only complaint I have is too many cars cross the finish line. I know it's a console version but it's still fun to see your rival get a blown engine or a blown tire. Heck it doesn't even happen to you that much. I know it's like so-called comeback logic in other games where if it happens you say that could happen in real life. But even in the Thunder Mode where you re-race last some of last year's highlights they have a lot of them where something went wront with the car.
Take Daytona Tony Stwewart was out in 2. I just wish they for the console version they would have made it like a 5 year-old little league where everybody is a winner. Now that's hard to do when you only have 20 laps but still.
What does turning off the yellow flag do in terms of gameplay. For be with the short races if there's a yellow that's 5 laps down the drain. Does turing on the yellow allow chrashes and other things like a blown engire or does just make you keep racing while they clean up.
Overall a very fun title. The career mode is a bit stupid when you start out. Next year they should make you a middle of the road racer in the Busch series and have to work your way up. It's no fun coming in 40th every time out.Comment

Well I don't think that EA Sports is going to dive into midget or sprint cars any time soon. The next best move is to get the next level of Nascar with all the Busch drivers and tracks. This is the next realistic move for EA Sports.Comment

There are only one thing that bothers me a little bit, and thats when a yellow comes out and you, along with the rest of the field decide to make pit stops. Was running the Daytona 500 @ 25% length and a caution came out, so I along with the rest of the field pitted. Me running in 40th, pretty came to a stop with about 10-12 cars in front of me.
The other thing I found kinda funny was, the Dr. Pepper car (#26) is referred to as the #22 car.Comment
