All versions have "simulation qualities". The console versions are just more arcadish than the PC version.

If you want a great handling, less arcade physics engine, and current sponsors/etc doesn't matter to you, get Nascar Heat 2002 or Dirt to Daytona.

If you want a current Nascar game, there's no other game in town anymore, and it's much better than previous years.

I actually bought Nascar Heat 2002 yesterday for 14.99 for the Xbox. Played it last night and loved it. I think I may go ahead and get Nascar Thunder 2004 also.

Well the game isn't bad. The physcis isn't all the great but...

The game is still fun to play. The career mode and season mode does it for me. Through in the Grudges and you have yourself and very competative race every week out.

Now on the console version the cornors is tough going. You really have to pound the brake which leads to you sliding a bit and really slowing down. You can just leak speed to get into those cornors easily. Or so I haven't found a way to do it.
