It's on sale for $20 on Origin now. It'll probably be worth that much.

Re: Need For Speed: The Run Impressions
Better than the demo but cars still slide around way too much or alternatively don't turn at all.
The resets are still ridiculous. It's risky to take a chance on shortcuts, not sure if something is or not but if it's not because you dared to go slightly off the road it's a reset. That 'time hunter' challenge is near impossible and it's only the 4th one. Wrecks also still ridiculous. Sometimes you can slam into the back of a car and keep going, other times hit a pebble despite no other crashes and that's it.
Graphics much better on PC instead of the mess the consoles were.
One thing I have a big problem with is that it looks like you have to play multiplayer to unlock single player cars. Unless I'm misunderstanding there and those cars are only for multi.
Seems to be worth the $20 at least.Comment

Re: Need For Speed: The Run Impressions
Why am I still using Tier 4 cars half way through the game? I should probably be at 2 now.
Also...
they just kinda skipped that whole thing there. I thought there was going to be some super long stretch but nope, just skip it.Comment

It's definitely a rental... you will finish it in a few hours, but its a fun and frustrating game all at the same time.KEEP 2K5 ALIVEComment

Re: Need For Speed: The Run Impressions
Tiers go up,not down. Don't spend long on 1-3 while 4 seems to go on forever, thus my confusion. The last stage is one of the most frustrating things ever. The cars don't handle or respond near well enough for what you have to do there. I didn't even know there were kits until I got to the tier 7 cars, ironically which the best of is better than either of the tier 8 cars. Even with the aero kit to improve handling it was still pretty bad. The resets and wrecks just get more and more ridiculous. I wrecked twice landing a jump when there was NOTHING there and also on a plastic garbage can.
They could've at least added reverse tracks and have you go back to California. Go through the south or something.SpoilerThey even mention such a thing in the ending about another race but you don't actually do it,it's just a video.
I'm not sure if it was just poorly designed or rushed out for the holiday season.
Anyone know the song that was playing during this race?

Re: Need For Speed: The Run Impressions
I played the one-hour trial thanks to Playstation Plus... I found the game to be fun, fast, and gorgeous to look at. There is also a great selection of cars. At $29.99 now, I'm definitely going to pick this up.Comment
