In terms of reach, I think they both hit about 80-85 million homes currently.

As for the swap from Speed to NBC, it doesn't change anything for me. I'm never awake early enough to watch live coverage on Speed, and I end up downloading the BBC or Sky coverage anyway. I am a bit disappointed to see Will Butxon without a job in 2013 (currently). Always love his coverage when I do see it and it'll be a shame if he's not picked up somewhere.

For those who want to do a GP Season with your favorite driver here is the way. Now I take no credit for this except for doing a google search.

It's an excel spread sheet that will track everything from the drivers standings to the constructor standings dynamically after you input race results for each race. It even has a section to keep track of pole winners.

All you have to do is do a series of quick races that follow the actual f1 season and you can be you can control the weather yourself. I have tried it and I love it.

I don't mind if they don't air qualifying live, I DVR it anyway because I want to wait for college football to finish up, but if they split up the announcers, I am going to be extremely annoyed.

Anyone use Steam? I bought the game from them, direct download, and I read about the patch releases, but there's no download button anywhere, nor a link?

How does this work on Steam? Is it automatic or what?
Does anyone know the answer to my question please?

What? I'm not following. I downloaded the Spreadsheet but there is no directions or anything and I'm not sure even how it applies to the F1 2012 game. Can you expound on this a bit?

Patches are automatically downloaded. If you can sign into Steam and play the game online, you have the latest version.

All you have to do after you open it is:

                1. Click on Driver Championship at the top on the left. The Country of the races are highlighted underneath where you clicked Driver Championship.

                2. Now how it applies to f1 2012 the game is this: Select a quick race in f1 2012 the game. Lets say you picked Australia (Albert Park), if you do a full race weekend after the Qualifying sessions, go back to the spreadsheet and click on Australia (on the left under where you clicked Driver Championship).

                3. Clicking Australia opens up the results grid for positions 1-10 after the race is complete to the right on the spreadsheet.

You have to click on the drop down menus and select the correct driver for the correct finishing position. You have to write down manually the finishing positions from F1 2012 the game though. You can also input the pole winner also.

                4. After you input the 1-10 results, click on Driver Championship and you will see that the points standing are in the proper driver/points order.
Now click Constructors Championship, you will that they have been updated and ordered also.

Now if you want to drive a season as your favorite driver through a full F1 season, this is the manual way to do it being that f1 2012 the game has no GP/Season mode.

Just do quick races following the f1 calender http://www.formula1.com/races/calendar.html

and just rinse and repeat the above directions.

So this may not be the best move for F1 telecasts in the U.S., especially if NBC/NBCSN doesn't provide live coverage of practice and qualifying and provide the Checkered Flag wrap-up show like SPEED.

Plus it's more than likely NBC will break up the best TV team for any form of North American racing, SPEED's F1 booth of Bob Varsha, Steve Matchett and David Hobbs. I believe Varsha is still under contract to SPEED next season.

                  That's no bueno.
My biggest fear is watching a bunch of taped delayed, chopped up races. I am hoping NBC will take this contract seriously and give American F1 fans what we are used to having.

I also fear that we could lose practice and qualy altogether. To your point about the announcers. Varsha plays a larger role on the SPEED channel than just F1. Fox Sports my be reluctant to let him just walk. Hobbs and Matchett should be up for grabs.

Edit: Excellent news. It seems all practice and qualy will air on NBCSN. This could be a promising move after all.

NBC Sports Group signed a four-year deal with Formula One for the exclusive U.S. media rights to the auto racing series.

Is anyone else finding F1 EXTREMLEY difficult with the standard controller? Maybe it's just me but compared to 2011 I'm finding this game all but impossiable? Especially tracks like Monaco.

Thanks to this setup I found on Youtube, I took the pole at Valencia!!!(Still using the Marussia car)
                      Best time of 1:52.009!!!
I'll be a nervous wreck come raceday, as my objective is now to finish first, lol.

I was soo excited afterwards, I did my Daniel Bryan impression: "YES!!! YES!!!YES!!!!!!"
Excitement quickly waned when the race started.Having no KERS, I was passed immediately and quickly fell to 10th...then I spun out........ugh, it was ugly. Finished 24th and a couple laps down......

Having other things going on, I couldn't race right away and had a long break. Of course that meant losing the feel of the car. I was all over the track, like I was drunk or something.....like I said, ugly.

Ah well. Still enjoying the game. I plan on finishing this season as a Marussia driver, even though the car sucks. I didn't want to win the pole and every race anyway, lolol...

Man this game kicks my ***:

                        Intermediate AI
                        controller - only ABS assist
                        Team Red Bull- career mode
                        50% race

                        Melbourne
Fast qual lap 1:37, thought was decent, but still slowest time. Race highest position 14th. Set up 1 pit stop middle of race thinking would maybe help gain some position on 29 lap race. Finishing race under goal of 17 or better, but disqualified for not running prime tyres on pit, learned my first rule, really sucks. Going to restart now ther i understand rules a bit better.

I thought I was stinking it up in career mode, but apparently not as bad as I thought....

Just got a contract offer from Force India, which I gladly accepted! Just in time for Race #11 at Budapest.

Thinking about picking this up. I haven't bought a racing game since the day NR2003 came out. Just have a couple questions about the career mode:

Do CPU drivers switch teams mid season and/or between seasons? I hope they do since it would be quite odd to race against the exact same drivers every year.

How many seasons does career mode last?

I have read a few reviews and impressions threads and all signs indicate this game being pretty fantastic. I just want to know how much time and enjoyment I will get out of career mode since that's pretty much all I would likely play.

                            Thanks gents.

Haven't picked it up either, but in the last several iterations, the drivers do not change. You replace the #2 driver in each team at first, and they all stay every year and if you leave, the driver you replaced gets back in his same car. The quality of the teams does change though.
