Best NASCAR game on consoles?

So I've been playing NASCAR 06 Total Team Control for awhile now on my regular Xbox. I own a 360 and PS3 but the reviews for NASCAR games since 06 have been average at best. 06 is getting old (literally), so if I wanted to grab a game for my 360/PS3 is NASCAR 09 the best or is one of the NASCAR: The Game versions better? Both of "The Game" releases have average reviews, but I am curious what you guys think.

Personally, I think NASCAR the Game Inside Line is the best on PS3 and 360, but that's like selecting something that's average at best. I didn't play NASCAR 08. NASCAR 09 offline racing wasn't for me. The Game 11 was okay as well as Inside Line.

Best options for NASCAR right now for modern stuff is NASCAR Heat, which can be downloaded for free legally, but only for mods, and NR2003, which I personally don't like.

Yeah, this generation's console nascar offerings aren't exactly stellar--play them long enough and you'll most likely find something that drives you crazy.

IMHO, the best nascar games out there are Nascar Racing 2003 on the PC (with a mod update), and (believe it or not), Dirt to Daytona on the PS2.

Agree- NTG inside line - but it's far from perfect.

I still play Thunder 2003 when I pull out my Xbox, but that is rare these days.

It definitely is but graphics look pretty "grainy" on the 360. Wonder if 2006 version looks any better.

For what it's worth, I picked up both NASCAR Thunder 2003 and NASCAR 06 (both of which are compatible with the Xbox360) for a few bucks. Both games are very playable but the graphics are tough to get past once you have played NTG Inside Line. NASCAR 06 is 480p (was hoping it might be 720). Further, NTG Inside Line has a much better "feel" of the difficulty involved with racing a car. I probably appreciate NTG Inside Line a little bit more now.

But can you race as the Mr. Clean #120 truck with a pit crew full of Mr. Clean's at the Rockingham clone in Hawaii call Mr. Clean Speedway in NTG:IL?

we all know EA NASCAR games was never that great, they a reason EA is NOT making them anymore!!!! yes Nascar inside the line..is tens times better then any of EA old games,

I can barely read this post, but I can tell for certain that you've probably never played a good EA NASCAR game before, you probably only played either 08 or 09. Go back and play NASCAR 06, and then tell me that NTG:IL is 10x better than any EA game.
