Just watched the 125 with trackpass

I'm stuck here at work with no TV, but that free trackpass thing is cool. It gives you all the info on speeds and position plus an in-car camera on Jeff Burton's 99 car. It was sweet to watch the whole race through the vantage point of just one car instead of the usual spectator view. Also just spotter/crew chief audio and no NBC announcers! WooHoo!

Jeff Burton made a move on Dale, but nobody backed him up and he ended up 5th (not too shabby) and of course Dale JR. finised 1st with Stewart, McMurray, and Waltrip behind.

Now on to the 2nd race...Go Ricky Rudd!

Stewart got second? man, they must have really tweaked his car after practice, cause he ran horrible there and in the shootout

Sounds like something went wrong between the DEI cars. After the race, Dale Jr.'s crew chief was criticizing Michael Waltrip for not working with Junior. I saw the race, and I don't see what Waltrip could have done differently. They were running different lines, anyway.

Waltrip said those pit crew guys were just talking crap. He said his car couldn't hold Junior's line and vise versa.

Stewart was amazing out there for not having much speed. He said he made up the speed with handling...and having Dale Jr. as a drafting partner can't help either.

What'd you guys think of the tire wear? It did make the cars spread out but the drivers looked pretty worried after 22 or so laps the tires had degraded so much.

I was surprised about the tire wear. They showed a picture of one guy's tire after the caution for Scott Riggs. It was worn all the way down, and this was after like 30 or so laps. I tell you what, If someone loses a tire when they're running bunched together, it could get real ugly real quick, IMO. My sleeper picks are Sterling Marlin or Jamie McMurray for Sunday.

Sterling impressed me just like Stewart did. I forget how he qualified, but I don't remember him being that fast.
Some of the drivers were talking about racing more timid and only being able to run certain lines cause of the tire thing. If somebody does lose it I'd say it would be a rookie/one-car team. I know Nascar is trying to seperate the cars but this may just lead to more 'big ones'.
